Somewhat surprised by Ronnie Harrison this early, but the rest are blah.

We are weak at safety so I don’t understand the Harrison cut. Was this because of how well Abraham played?

Must be.

Shrader will land somewhere.  Maybe not right away.  But Ks tend to be pretty fluid.  He kicked too well not to get a shot.

I bet he’ll be one of the first Ks picked up when a team needs one.

Think he ends up in Green Bay...will bear watching,

100% what they will be doing. The extra spot may be for 5 DT' on original 53 as Davis is just back and Bryan will likely be kept for time being.

The expectation is both Ehlinger and Bean will be cut as well with the hope to get both back on the practice squad

They changed the rules this year that your 3rd QB can now be on the PS and be your emergency QB I believe. If true there is no reason to carry a 3rd one on the active roster.

Woods and Ebukam will both bring going on IR too. So they can bring Harrison back after woods is put on IR after the 53.

Interesting possible pickup?

Think we are very deep at RB right now with good young backs, Goodson has looked great, Hull is the receiving back, Sermon short yardage and JT of course the bell cow. Think Scott makes ps and Felton may as well.

Dulin may be more on the bubble then I had previously thought, with new rules on kickoffs his gunner role has been changed quite a bit (This may also hurt Flowers as kickoffs are now tighter and making cuts as opposed to full speed). Going to be interesting

Sermon is hurt though

Kent Sterling just reported a Colts player is being investigated by the NFL for betting on his own team.  He said the player is not a star but a player everyone will recognize.  More to come.

Reported it where?

Darrell Baker not on the list.

Will Smith Smh GIF by The Academy Awards

He was one of the best CBs out there.  Except for Kenny, that's not saying a lot.  Although Jones looked okay.

Most of the competition was against back up to back up QBs.

???? I follow Kent on YouTube and don't see this. Are you sure you didn't watch an old one from last year (Rodgers)

If They cut Bean I bet someone snags him up. That being said, I don’t think the Colts will let him go.

    • That's because those are the only years I looked at to make the list.  I'm sure I'd find plenty of Patriot trades and FA pickups in the late 90s, too.   The reason I looked only at their dynasty years is because I was responding to the suggestion that dynasties have to be built from within.  And I just don't think that's the case.   In fact, I'd go farther to say there's no such thing as an NFL team that's been built entirely through the draft and UFDAs.  It may be the case that dynasties like the Brady-era Pats were less engaged in free agency and trades than other teams.  But to say that they stayed away from FA and trades just isn't correct.   That said, I do agree that it all starts with the franchise QB.  And I'd also agree that few franchise QBs have been acquired from elsewhere (at least for their prime).  There are some notable exceptions (Steve Young, Drew Brees, and Warren Moon come to mind).  But they're mostly drafted.

    • Awuzie was another one. What I wanted to see was them save money on slot CB and bring in a proven boundary CB.   I know a lot of people say that young/unproven players have to play to develop, but there's no rule that young/unproven players have to start by default. They are on cheap, rookie deals, which gives a team a lot of flexibility.   Remember when Ballard went the young/unproven route with the DL back in 2021? Well, since then, he has brought in DL FAs and (repeatedly) retained his own proven vets. Even a guy like Latu, who had a ton of hype, only played 39% of the snaps (even with Ebukam being on IR).   I know Ballard is a trenches guy, so he is going to invest more in the DL. But the approach to each position group is wildly different. And it's not just a move like the Sneed trade...there's a lot of space between that and filling out the CB room with young/unproven players (many of which are late-round draft picks and UDFAs).    And with their only real cap investment (and proven CB) in the secondary is a 29 year-old slot CB, they were taking a pretty big risk without much of a contingency plan.
    • They all were done AFTER the Patriots had established their Franchise QB….
