I think Latu is exactly that kind of player, who is said to be the most special edge rusher in the draft. Only concern with him was neck injury, but he recovered from that 2 years ago and his awesome tape shows the kind of special player, far from injury concerns. Without that injury history, he'd have been top-10, if not top-5, player in this draft easily. So, what more swing-for-fences move you refer to? Which player did you have in mind? -
When measuring the Colt's front office drafting strategy and performance, they don't have to be perfect, just should just be better than all other teams in the NFL. This relative performance can be measured. It isn't a subjective, arbitrary value. It's often dumbed down to a simple letter grade, like in grade school. These techniques are used by all sorts of companies to evaluate strengths / weaknesses the competition, and to do self-assessments for future improvements over a period of several years. -

I think most of us (all?) hoped that we could somehow grap one of the top three WRs or TE Brock Bowers, but that’s didn’t happen. I’m happy that 1) we at least tried to move up (which means that Ballard is capable of doing it, I had my doubts) and 2) we got the top DE rusher instead which is super important in the AFC that is fully loaded with QB talent at many teams. Also, I really did like that Ballard said Latu was one of the 4 to 5 players they considered Elite in this draft. I’m warming up to this! -
We have some positions of need just like any team. I really felt this offseason we needed a true difference maker(S), either at WR/TE , or defense....maybe Latu can be that guy, but combined with what we didnt do in FA pretty disappointed overall.....I am sure this draft class will be "nice" but its been several years of nice, I dont feel like we have enough Dynamic players on either side of the ball to be more than a middle of the road wild card team....Just feels to me he is afraid to take a chance and swing for the fences once in a while......
