I think Butler not only plays safety,  as of today,  I think there's a good chance Butler STARTS at safety.

Who else is going to start opposite Geathers?

Could Green really be ready to start?        Maybe.........

He's definitely starting opposite Geathers baring some kind of major (Landon Collins type) breakout year from Green. But as of no Green will be the 3rd safety.

Really hope we draft a FS this year

Green has the talent, he just needs to develop more. No need to get another safety, especially with much more pressing needs early. And getting a safety late would make him a developmental safety like Green. Butler and Geathers will start, and Green will be the third safety

Eddie Jackson is a way better safety then green and can be had late in the draft there is no reason to take one early

With as often as Geathers and Green where injured even if Green did have a huge breakout year, Butler would be necessary as a quality backup.

Geathers for example only played in 9 games last year despite being on the top of the depth chart.  He was always nursing some minor injury that would keep him out for 1 or 2 games.

I know.... and its aggravating.  Kind of like Bob Sanders, great hard hitting player when he is playing.

Keeping hope that he stays healthy, but with his style of play he will probably always have some nagging injuries.

Yup, a lot of the indy writers & reporters think so

I'm hoping for Teez & Tankersley

There's no way I want Teez on this team. He's a cocky little $@%# who runs his mouth, then doesn't back it up.

Well....    to be fair....

Last year,  Geathers missed week 1 with some type of leg injury...

But he then played straight through weeks 2 thru 11.     And on Tennessee's last offensive play of week 11,  Geathers made the game winning 1st down stop, but hurt his neck on the play.    And he wound up missing the rest of the season.

There was no minor injury down the stretch....    at least,  none that I could tell....

Could we see Green at CB this season possibly?  I refuse to give up on him.

The guy is 6'3" and runs a 4.3". If he can develop, I've seen crazier things happen. Half of his problems last year were due to inexperience. He's also got to be smart when it comes to taking stupid penalties. Maybe he will never life up to his potential but he could end up playing much better this year. Either way, I hope they draft 2 corners, but I'm really hoping there is a blue chip pass rusher available at 15.

No he doesn't. He's big and fast and nothing else. No instincts, no ball skills, no ability to track the deep ball,etc...basically no coverage skills whatsoever. Idk why people think he has some hidden potential waiting to be unlocked. He's just an athlete without a position. 2 years at safety on Clemson because he failed as a WR. So they stuck him somewhere they thought might work.

    • The criteria is the Colts want to keep you but you’re a fringe player. It all comes down to how much the Colts like your nephew. He could surprise and if he does they may not want to put him on the PS out of fear of losing him to another team. The good thing is the Colts love their oline players, and will keep lower level draft picks/UDFA lineman over other positions. There’s quite a few later round guys the colts have kept on that have shown to be pretty good level guys with bright futures.    there’s not really any criteria for being signed to the PS other than they want to see how much better a guy can get over there.    most of the time, an older guy is either ineligible for the PS because of how many games he’s started, or it’s not worth it because you see what the guy is over what he can become (as he’s been in the league a while).   odds are the younger guy gets signed to the ps over the older guy.
    • Remember all those years we watched Mannings fluttering passes downfield? 100 Int's even over his 1st 5 seasons. Not counting many Playoff interception disasters.  No flutters for AR ! Just less closing time for the D.
    • I just read the article on Stampede Blue.  It’s an old clip of him dunking.     I’m pretty sure they told him not to do that during this time.  He did say he’d be throwing with the guys.
    • I am always impressed with the knowledge on this forum so I thought I would ask a question about the practice squad as opposed to trying to figure it out on my own.   We have a UDFA Dalton Tucker on the OL (Guard Tackle) Currently listed as 3rd team behind Q and Stills. He is my nephew-in-law and a great young man. He is a good OL with a lot of flexibility or otherwise the Colts would not have signed him. However would be a very long shot to make the team at this time due to the returning player and two OL draft picks.  The question is how many OL do we normally keep on the Practice Squad and what are the criteria? In all my years of following the Colts have just not paid attention to the details. If it came down to Stills or Dalton for the PS is Stills or Pinter eligible and would you put a more veteran player on the PS or would you prefer a younger player assuming you thought he could develop? Pay-wise do all PS players get the same? I also understand that PS players attend home games on the sidelines and practice with the team since they are designated as practice squad. Any information is appreciated as I will be following this aspect a lot closer this fall.
    • I thought he said he wasn’t going to play BB?  How old is that video?
