Yes, it is such a transitional city that I am not certain a stable fan base can be developed. The "fanatic" element of a fan may be diminished. Raiders are now being bid out to gamblers and Mexico City, it looks like. Now, do you think someone may ask someone to throw a game???

No more absurd California taxes either. They will be mostly away fans going to the game though early on. I went to Denver @ New Orleans this year and it was like 50% Broncos fans because it's a party city so I assume similar for a new team in Vegas. They just got an NHL team as well that will probably be competitive early on after the expansion draft and with the Raiders on the rise it's possible they can convert some folks into fans and do very well. I'm looking very forward to going to Vegas for the first time to see the Rangers play the Golden Knights but now the Colts will eventually play the Raiders there as well. I was watching the NFL channel when Schefter reported it so I switched over to Collin Cowherd to see what his thoughts were.... he made a comment about the city being transient and that he believes it will be hard to sell season tickets. I doubt it could be worse than what we have seen Jax do in the past, lol It will be interesting to see what happens. I think they said the projection would be to have a stadium built by the 2020 season... seems awful quick to me unless they have already hired architects and so forth and are well into the design phase. dgambill
I think it will be awful for the Raiders. Honestly the crowd will be half the opposing team's fans. I know I will have tickets for a Raiders/Colts matchup as soon as they get moved in. That's one away game my wife will get behind in going to besides the Titan game. It's like when NE goes to Miami to play the Dolphins....the Pats fans take over....well this will be the norm week in and week out in Vegas. Plus there is a TON of other things to do in Vegas besides go see the Raiders...if they aren't winning it won't sell out.

Usually cheap flights...cheap hotels...great food...some shopping for the mrs. and a game for me and its a win win. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Raiders have to use a silent count at home...imagine Seattle or Pittsburgh fans...terrible towels everywhere...it will happen. Not to disagree but why would the casinos help sell season tickets? I can see single game tickets being offered as a lure to go to a certain casino.... curious why you think that? I am not a Vegas guy, never been there, so I don't understand all of the perks etc.

Give seats away to hotel guests and gamblers. They will also buy luxury seats for the high rollers

jet1968
I use to drive out to Los Angeles every Friday. It seems to me about everybody in L.A. heads to Las Vegas for the weekend, which is good for the Raiders fans that were in southern California. I think that the people this move will hurt is the Chargers and Rams fans. Any of the time I spent in California seemed to me they were mostly Raiders fans rather in north or south California. And Vegas isnt much more then an extension of Los Angeles.

I'm in a little town just north of Salt Lake so a 7 hour drive is not a big deal compared to going anywhere else to see the Colts. In fact last time I saw the Colts was against the Chiefs in the RCA Dome the year they demolished it. It was an all field goal game not a single touchdown of any sorts...was kinda sad to see lol. I'm disappointed by teams moving because I feel bad for the fans but I am glad it helps occasionally bring my Colts team closer to me

IinD
They'll also be an attractive destination for players going forward. No income tax, party city and new stadium. Watching an Oakland game was brutal with that crappy field. Also opposing fans may be able to see their team without the fear of getting stabbed. southwest1
I preferred the Black Hole in Oakland. It just seemed to fit. Plus, I always liked when the cameras panned the crowd & you'd see Skeletor chilling next to Darth Vader. Yeah, money talks & everything else walks in the end. So whose big brother & little brother in LA now? You know like everybody knows Big Blue is top dog over the Jets in Met Life Stadium. It's strange because Philip Rivers hasn't played in a SB, but Derek Carr is a rising star. So, which team is top dog once the Raiders & Chargers start playing in their new digs for real in 2017?
