When you've got Green and Geathers healthy at the same time it allows you to get creative with packages to deal with coverage issues our linebackers have.

Exactly....getting our LBs out of coverage and putting some healthy corners on the field would have a huge effect on this defense.

And give those extra second or two to get to the opposing QB for the big uglies!

In theory....but lets not get too carried away lol....I'm just wanting to clean up the secondary and keep us in the ball game lol. I'm not expecting much of a pass rush this year....not unless we blitz...but we can't do that until we can lock down the back end.

Getting healthy is important but that is only part of it. We can all agree that we have had several guys miss extensive time due to injuries/suspension.  It is gonna take time to get these guys into game shape, look at Langford for example, he missed what 4wks and been back the last two, and still I haven't heard his name called on Sunday.  Nor has he had an impact on very many if any plays yet.  Right now he's just not the same player.  Can he become what he was last year, I hope so, but being in training room shape is totally different than being in game shape.  Let's say we do get everybody back this week, except for Jones, it might take three weeks for us to see a big difference on the defensive side of the ball.  True we will see some improvement immediately, but down the road I'm hoping for a huge difference!

Updated:

Henry Anderson - Next week or two
Darius Butler - We'll know more when Pagano addresses, but it's a Hamstring so maybe a couple weeks.

Trent Cole - Depends on practice this week, i'd say he's week2week

Antonio Cromartie - He finished the game on Sunday
Vontae Davis - Anytime from now til Week 6, keep an eye on the practice reports
Clayton Geathers - He played on Sunday, and he'll be back for next Sunday.
TJ Green - This week or next week, mild MCL sprain, should be ok soon.
Patrick Robinson - I'd expect him to get through concussion protocol and be ready for Sunday
Donte Moncrief- Pending MRI
Denzell Good - He should be good to go on Sunday, Back contusion.

Thanks for Updating this

Can someone please tell me how to stop the alerts everytime someone posts on this thread? Only doing it on this thread, thanks

Did you accidentally hit the follow button at the bottom of the thread??  It's  directly under the reply button and I know when I'm on mobile I hit it every now and again instead of reply.

Hilariously enough there is another "notify me of replies" slider button right above the submit reply button. Seems like on mobile either of them would be easy to accidentally press.

The only two that really matter in wins and losses are Davis and Moncrief... we aren't going anywhere important without both of them sooner than later.

What worries me about Vontae Davis is if he has any noticeable decline. He wasn't as good last year either. We NEED him asap don't get me wrong but I really hope he can still be the old Vontae since this injury news about him has concerned me the most this year so far.

Thanks, looks like it was the button in the reply section

Eh, They lost woodhead and Allen for the year, I'm not sure that offense will look the same.

As if our depleted secondary wasnt bad enough, we cannot rush the passer at all.... Rivers will pick us apart even worse than he did the Jags...
