De La Cruz threw the fastest ball in recorded history last night. 106.9 MPH!!! -
He said the part about nobody knowing how these things will play out.....I thought with a smile. I took it as him being sarcastic towards the idea that some might think he was targeting AD and "knew" he would fall to 52, even deciding to trade down knowing that he would still be there. I think Ballard means he simply took the BPA, where it was obvious AD was the BPA staring him in the face.

I completely forgot about this. No question Cato June had a big voice. But Richard Smith did this with Deablo with the Raiders as well. I think this is a major strategy for finding LBs in this defense, looking for bigger safeties who probably aren't fast enough on the back end but actually are an athletic plus for a box defender. As long as they have length to handle blockers, and they're physical enough to play the run. And maybe a similar strategy for safeties, looking for corners who won't hold up on the boundary in the NFL. Although I think speed at safety is more important than it was a few years ago, even for the base strong safety.

He was the number 2 recruit coming out of highschool and has been billed as the “best QB of all the Mannings” but so far he’s not been able to become a starter over some questionable QBs at Texas.
