For real though, although he’s not my number one choice, if Adam is done I guess the guy who was his understudy for several months wouldn’t be a bad place to start.
The numbers don't lie man. At a certain point potential goes out the window and the numbers show what you really are.
Darnold still has time to turn his career around once he gets healthy. At least as long as Geno Smith got. But JB7 was always considered a high-floor player and unless Darnold makes some progress towards reaching his ceiling, a high floor QB like Brissett is going to compare favorably to more high-ceiling QBs who haven't come close to reaching their potential yet.
And it bears repeating -- the timing of this recent illness is very bad news for Darnold and could set back his development by as much as a year. Precious time in a sports market that demands quick results.
