Colts Vs. Patriots Sunday Night Football Game Thread

Hi, Colts Nation!   :)   An interesting battle of AFC Division leaders tonight on prime time, as the 7-2, and AFC East leading New England Patriots come to The Circle  City, and play our 6-3, and AFC South leading Indianapolis Colts.  Colts are both  seeking to end their current four game regular season losing streak, and win over the Patriots for the first time in five years.

Colts and Patriots are meeting for the 78th time overall tonight, after playing 73 regular season games, and 4 post season games.  Patriots though, currently lead the all-time overall series at 48 wins and 29 losses, and also outscored our Colts, 1880 to 1459 points,  in the previous 77 games.

LOS's stadium roof is closed for tonight's 8:25PM Eastern Standard Prime Time kickoff, because outside the stadium area in Downtown Indianapolis is snow with cloudy skies at 30 degrees, 90% both humidity and precipitation, and mild southwest winds at 3 miles per hour.

NO further injuries, continue to keep your AFC South and divisional lead, and continue to stay both Colts Strong, and Chuck Strong, and  GO COLTS!!!!!  :cheer:   :coltslogo:  :1colts:  :colts:  :coltshorse:  :coltsfb:          :coltshelmet:     :blueshoe:    :coltslogo:   :cheer:  :D

Give them a heaping serving of Ol' Ahmad, along with a side of Reg, Duane, and T.Y. and some Coby cheese as a garnish... Seriously though I do hope they stay with the run for 2 reasons:

1) to keep the Brady bunch on the sideline, and our D fresh and

2) to give Luck more time to hit TY on the double moves for big gainers.

LETS ROLL FELLAS!

No...what we need is an aerial attack and just outscore the crap on them....I'd take one of them blowouts (for the COLTS of course) right about now :)

Do you think that is possible with the Pats secondary?  I think the Colts need to run the ball.  Control the clock.  No quick strike attempts.

    • Polian left Buffalo, went to Carolina, and then Indy. And yeah, it was a promotion. After Polian, no one else has had that president title. I'm sure he had more authority and stature than Ballard or Grigson have had, and probably more authority than he had in Buffalo or Carolina. In fact, I've always felt that part of the reason Polian was dismissed was that Irsay wanted to take back full control of his team.    But those are technicalities, and don't really have much to do with my point. Even with Polian, the hierarchy was Owner > GM > HC. Polian was running the day to day, the HC answered directly to Bill, who answered directly to Irsay.   I'm saying that I think there needs to be another level of separation between Irsay and the day to day operation, which would be occupied by a chairman/president. I'm also saying that instead of the HC answering to the GM, the HC and GM should have the same level of authority, with both answering to the chairman/president. So the hierarchy would be Owner > President > GM/HC.    And that's not because I think Irsay is a bad owner. I think he's a very good owner, but he's also the biggest Colts fan on the planet. And because of that -- and probably other reasons, including his declining health -- he's probably not a good manager, which is what the chairman/president should be doing. That person should be representing the organization, taking the heat for issues, leading pressers when the HC is fired in the middle of the night, holding every element of the operation accountable, sorting out priorities, establishing and maintaining operational direction, etc. For as much as Irsay loves the Colts and supports the operation, he's probably no longer the right person for that type of leadership and representation.    Several other teams use this hierarchy. I already mentioned the Rams. The Commanders are owned by Josh Harris, team president is Jason Wright, GM is Adam Peters, HC is Dan Quinn. Ravens owned by Steve Bisciotti, team president is Sashi Brown, GM/EVP is Erik DeCosta, HC is John Harbaugh. Lions are another family-run organization, owned by Sheila Ford, team president is Rod Wood, GM is Brad Holmes, HC is Dan Campbell. Bears are another family-run example. I could go on... I'm sure the details vary from team to team, but the point is that there's someone other than the primary owner who is overseeing the football operation, before you get to the GM. And I think the Colts would benefit from that arrangement.
    • I don't know why I thought you had a game in Europe. Thanks.
    • Most of those throws were all on target.  In fact I thought AR's accuracy the last game was very good.  The issue was he was late in throwing the ball.  Thereby allowing the defender to close the gap and break up the passes.  But as far as putting the ball where it should have been?  He was good.
    • Well what if Colts traded up from 15 to 13 and drafted Brock Bowers ?   This offense would look completely different with AR throwing to Bowers as a safety blanket.    Maybe AR would still be starting!
    • This may be the post of the year and I am not exaggerating.   SS seems to have a major issue in COMMUNICATION.  He does not come across well in interviews, in behind the scenes videos, and press conferences.  I do not want to say he is on the spectrum, but something seems 'off'.   Nothing he ever says seems authentic or true.  Like when you hear some people  talk you say to yourself "wow, like it or not at least he has a passion and fervor for what he says". SS is the opposite.    Whenever he does talk?  I have gotten  to the point where I think the exact opposite is true.  He sets no standards.  He placates.  He is not authentic.  Period.    So if that is the case?  If I can see that?  What are the players thinking that are around him much much more than me?  I would say that they think he is full of it.   And with AR being so young and lets face it, not the  most mature tool in the shed.....all he will do is take advantage of that.  As almost every kid growing up in this mega social media world today will do.     And if I hear one more time that "it is on me" without there  being a change in how he calls a game?   I very well may explode.
