Training Camp

Recommended Posts

We want to attend our first training camp this summer. I can't find the location or dates yet.

Any word if the camp will be at Anderson University again?

Is it worth attending?

Thanks,

I'm sure it will be in Anderson again. I went several times last year. Get there early if you want to get a seat and I think it's well worth it.

It is fun but insanely hot most of the time. It's a great chance to get really close to the action. First thing you will notice: Luck is a loud dude when he barks out calls haha

Hot in Indy?? Really? I thought the northern state's were always the coolest

Imo it was better at rose hulman. I went one year to anderson and didnt like it it seems small and confined. But i gotta get back so i can see luck

I am with you on your comment. While Anderson is closer to Indy than Terre Haute I liked Rose Hulman much better.  More fan room at Rose Hulman and more grass and much nicer campus. At least you didnt have to drive through heavy traffic getting into Rose Hulman.

I have been many times. I have had at least one friend on the staff since my Freshman year of high school. Currently, one is Paganos direct assistant and the other 2 are the guys on the sidelines during the game you see wearing an "X". It was a blast during high school because we would stay in the dorms (Anderson) with my friends and run wild on campus at night (at that age, a night without adults was fantastic).

Anyway, I have gone to at least one day of camp each year for quite some time. Some days are more fun than others and it is definitely hot a majority of the time. Having been numerous times, I personally wouldn't stay for more than a few days at a time. Three days max would seem about right, but you may get bored. There isn't a whole lot going on in Anderson outside of the Casino/Track. I would think 2 days would be plenty. Just my opinion.

If you are coming from Florida, there are definitely other things to do if you are looking to fill a week. You are only about 45 minutes away from Downtown Indy or a little more than 3 hours from Chicago.

A cpl years ago the Colts and Anderson University signed a 5 year agreement to have Training Camp there.  So I would assume that it is there again this year.  Don't have an inside source, but heard rumors at last years camp that Pagano and Grigson weren't too happy there.  Don't know if it's just people talking or if there is some truth to it.  Although it is really hot, I really enjoy going to camp.  Looking forward to it this year too.

Summer in Indiana gets pretty hot. The rest of the year is a random mix of heat/snow/rain/tornadoes/droughts/space junk/atomic radiation often in the same week haha
