Love it! Position of need and my wife's family are huge SC people and I've watched him for four years in person. Always been a leader and one of the most talked about players here. Him being a center and not a flashy position in LA and being so discussed says a lot.

Holmes was hurt when USC played Utah....   that's why Star had his way with him.

The kid probably shouldn't have been playing....   but all USC had as a back-up was a RS Freshman who wasn't ready.

Holmes is a good kid....

That said....    I didn't see this pick coming....

The Colts must have REALLY liked him....

we dont pick next round lol which is great

great lol even better i dont like this pick what are chances he starts right away or even contributes, why not take a WR how can make plays and learn behind Reggie and it would have been a steal in the 4th round

At the very least, we'll have decent competition for that Center spot.  If Satele is odd man out, I wouldn't mind that one bit.

Solid pick. Grigson said you could never have too many lineman, this pick backs up what he said. So what if we have passed on Patton, this isn't the last draft ever. WR is not a big need and if it is a need next year we may use our 1st pick on one. No need to russle your jimmies.

Wow.

Just wow.

Quinton Patton falls right into our laps, only to do this.

WR is not a position of need. Do you really think he'd be anything more than our 4th WR, if that?

Well itd be nice to have a another wr.

We did not need a C at all. Dont think he can overtake Satele or AQ.

Too small IMO. Most scouting reports say he should be limited to zone blocking scheme's and got manhandled by bigger defenders. We did not need a center.

Seriously?  You did see Satele play, right?  I like Shipley but he could hardly walk in one of the games I went to.

Center is definitely a position that needs upgraded.  I'm not saying Holmes is it, but he may be better than what we have now.

Exactly. Even in the fourth round you're not drafting for the fourth guy in the lineup. Unlike years past, this coaching staff sees protecting Luck as the top priority. I can't argue with that!

Theres a 2 part explanation why I dont like this pick. One, it just seems as though we are copying what the Titans are doing, except with worse players. (They got Levitre, we got Thomas, they got Warmack, we got Thornton, they got Schwenke, we got Holmes).

2, center should have been a postion we were solid at with both Satelle and Shipley. Now this pick shows that they were wrong about Satelle, and that was wasted money.

Disagree about C, see my other post.

As far as WR, I'm not sure we'll find one better than Brazil, Whalen or Palmer.   Now if he's a KR specialist, that's a different story.

They must like they're CB group. Maybe they think cassius can improve this season if someone gets hurt and he plays as a nickel corner. We did win 11 games last year.. I still feel like we'll take a corner, but now we have three picks left and there are the options of CB,WR,S,OT,RB

we will be running more Zone this year then last year, and if Holmes improves kiss Mr. Head Bob goodbye

confused. .. If we are going bpa we shouldn't be getting guys that clearly aren't bpa so if a wr is bpa why not take him need or not. ... let me be clear I have no problem getting oline help at all.. Just not at the expense of missing out on a better talent

    • Thank you. You guys are too kind, but I truly appreciate the support.    Perhaps I am being too hard on myself… But my point still stands that anyone who makes it to the NFL, whether practice squad or starter, has achieved something prestigious that only a rare few ever achieve.    Over a million high schoolers play. Of those only 7.8 percent move on to play in college.    Over 80,000 people play in college. Only 0.4 percent make it to opening day in the NFL.    Only 2,016 players make it to NFL rosters.
    • Davis had a very good rookie season after being drafted in the 2nd round out of Ohio State (I believe).   Graded in the 70’s against both the run and pass.      But his last three years have been disappointing, as he’s graded in the mid-50’s.   The reason I’m so interested in this signing, is (A) I’m sure it was heavily influenced by the new DL coach, Partridge.   And (B) we’re paying him 2/14.  I don’t recall that kind of money ever being given to a basic backup before.   Don’t think Davis is here to push Stewart, the Colts just signed him to 3/39.  That tells me the Colts defensive staff sees him differently.   I don’t know what the plan the staff has come up with for Davis, but I’m looking forward to watching it play out.
    • What I’m reading on him the Pacers did get good value. Looks like he will need time to develop but he is in the right situation to do that. The pacers are stacking some quality young players that will prove to be more outstanding depth or assets if they choose to make a trade. Very exciting time for the team right now.
    • I’m not a religious person, but since you’re an educator I think you’re doing Gods work!   In these crazy insane times we’re all living in you’re doing one of the toughest jobs on earth.  And you’re teaching perhaps the most difficult generation to deal with.     From a distance it feels like you’re being very unfair to you.  I’m hoping in time you’ll see yourself in a completely different light.    Someone highly thought of.  A leader in the community.  A protector of young minds.   I couldn’t admire a teacher more.
