Our corners were not the problem yesterday. Also we don't go up against a pro bowl caliber qb and wr combo every week. Outside of Andre Johnson we are in a pretty weak division. The corners will be fine. Even great teams have issues stopping Marshall. Now that he has a decent qb he is very very dangerous.

People will laugh when I say this but don't sleep on Locker and britt and Gabert and Blackmon in years to come.

Well Britt has to make it on the field my friend....I'm not sure he can do that....and Blackmon isn't any cleaner. I will say both show improvement and we will have quite a tough division in a couple years but this year....those two passing attacks don't worry me....at least not nearly as much as some others we face. All I was saying is that this combo we faced yesterday...was one of the best we will face this year. Not that we may fair any better with others but Minny, Miami, Buffalo, Jets, Cleveland, JAX, Tenn none of those have as fierce a #1 wr or top 15 qb. Now...GB, Det, NE, Houston we better improve against lol.

I thought outside of his good tackling, he was pretty poor in his coverage.

Am I the only one who thought this? Powers played awful, but Davis was just meh to me.

He was covering B. Marshall..who is Godzilla out there......

I dont think our coverage was bad....we just didnt have any rush and we had physical mismatches....

May be the best two word post ever....love the positive spin!!

LOL, ya know. You can't really say much. He came over 2 weeks ago and his first game is against a top 10 WR. What did people expect him to do? I think people got caught up in the fact that we had a new type of player on our team (and a good one) and expected a lot out of him. He'll adjust, and once he does, he'll be almost lights out.

It wasn't until they started sitting in zone that the DB's started getting picked on. Powers had his hands full, and even though Marshall took advantage of his size, Powers did a good job of shadowing. Both Davis and Powers' tackling were good as well. Davis had some darn good open field tackles on Forte that I've seen many DB's and LB's just outright miss. They played well I thought given the circumstances. Once there was no pass rush they were on their own and I they held on the best they could.

you can have 4 deion sanders in their prime but if there is no pass rush it won't matter.

I Personally Think Davis played well, you have to remember that he is two weeks in to this Defense, it takes time for the Defense too create chemistry. I was extremely happy with Powers performance yesterday, IMO he played better than Davis did. The one player i am worried about is King, besides the one play he made in the deep thirds on Marshall his performance was terrible to say the least.

I cant really fault Davis too much for this game. He has only been here 2 weeks or so, and we had NO pass rush in this game.

Pass rush has got to get better, and Davis and Powers will look much better once that happens. Plus Davis just needs a little more time getting coached under Pagano.

Just imagine if King or Vaughn was playing in place of Davis, then we would be screaming about drafting a corner lol. Even on the play where he got beat by Alshon, Bethea should have helped. The open field tackle on Forte was great.

Here we go again trying to find a player to blame. So why not Davis, come on people he is one player, I watched the whole game and Davis was never truly burnt by Marshall our any other receiver. Davis made a couple of good tackles. It was a team effort on this lose. The front four was not getting any push so that makes the secondaries job hard. So with that being said lets get off of this guys back. Since he came to the team people on this board have been looking for some reason to ride him. Davis is a good corner aggressive something that the Colts have not had in a longtime. Give him break, Go Colts

    • I just knew there was going to be a run on WRs later in the first.   welp, hoping we trade up for either AD (character concerns and all) or Troy Franklin.   there is no way we can leave this draft not drafting some type of burner in this deep WR draft.     Welp, can’t be too mad.  We can’t pick ‘em all and I’m ok with who we picked.
    • I haven't paid much attention to the draft and looking OR making mocks 'cause with Ballard you usually will be disappointed...... like most on this Forum are tonight. Lol   But I wasn't surprised by a defensive linemen being picked. I didn't think he would go CB or trade up for a elite receiver or Bowers would fall to 15. And honestly I know noting about Latu  except a few highlights I seen switching from the draft and Yankee game.  I liked the highlights but not crazy about the conference he played in and  his medical history.   I was hoping for Bowers but not surprised he's not a colt especially when Denver chose the last QB and the raiders were right behind them. I heard the raiders liked Bowers and with no QB left to possibly sway them I had a feeling they would grab him. We all know it was unlikely Ballard would trade up for him(even if he had him high on his board?)   Kudos for the bears getting a great prospect, I hope they don't mess him up.  And to the Patriots for getting imo the second best QB. The Falcons getting Pence for life after Cousins(which may be sooner than later) I think was a good move.
    • I mean, i kinda ma because in year 4 Trey had 13.5 sacks and probably way more pressures than paye has had in year 4.  Paye has one more year to show he can be the pass rusher we need.     and only reason why Trey was being compared to Paye is because someone else brought him.  There is honestly no comparison when it comes to their year 4s
    • 5 best remaining WR’s according to PFF   WR ADONAI MITCHELL, TEXAS. Mitchell's fluidity and size make him a tough matchup for anyone, especially in the red zone. ...  WR TROY FRANKLIN, OREGON. ...  WR LADD MCCONKEY, GEORGIA. ...  WR KEON COLEMAN, FLORIDA STATE. ...  WR ROMAN WILSON, MICHIGAN.
    • Falcons probably drafted Penix because they liked him, more than most other players because of the importance of QB position as well.   Note that They didn't draft JJ McCarthy so it shows Falcons staff definitely had their preference, inclination and liking to his QB play more than anyone else.   I think the thumb rule is if a team likes a QB very much, there are chances it won't happen again sooner in future, and even if they like few QBs in near future they may not be in position to draft the players they love.   So, general rule is always draft a QB if you like and when you can - same with Lions last year, and I hope Vikings did the same this draft.
