My comments are not directed at you for posting this. But the people who created this. Doesn’t seem ridiculous to compare a GM with 7 years experience to other GMs who have experience ranging above 10 years? There are 7 GMS with experience ranging from 12-24 years. In what universe is that fair or appropriate? I was willing to go with 7-10 years as roughly equal for comparison purposes, but beyond that it quickly became absurd. Of course, even in my version, Ballard is still last. But it doesn’t seem so deliberately designed to show Ballard is bad at his job. -

Good point. Youth is not necessarily an advantage when entering the NFL. Raimann was an older player when he was drafted but it turned out pretty well for him. Playing a lot in college is an important advantage in my eyes. You’re more experienced and it gives you a better chance of making an impact for the team and your career. -
Luck would have had more time to go Snowboarding and quit earlier.....

This raises the question of whether Ballard has been better at acquiring Pro Bowl-caliber players by trade or free agency than other GMs. The conventional thinking on Ballard has been that acquiring talent through the draft is his strength. -

I would think that Chris Ballard likely agrees with you. Despite being the only team — yes, ONLY TEAM IN THE NFL — to have four players with 8 or more sacks last season, what did Ballard do? First, he hired the best DL on the market, a guy who had multiple offers from both the NFL and college (Alabama, BEFORE Nick Saban retired) Charlie Partridge picked the Colts. Turns out he and Ballard have been friends for over a decade. Then, the draft broke the Colts way and they had their pick of any player, any Dlineman. And they took Laiatu. On tape, Ballard called him the best pass rusher in the draft. Laiatu should make the Colts better. Partridge should make ALL of our lineman better. The D-line was just ranked 3rd overall by PFF. So we should be very good and getting even better. Bottom line: Chris Ballard agrees with you. Whether or not that means more snaps for Lewis is too soon to know. Hope this helps.
