If I am a Browns fan, I am happy about this trade. This dude, on PR, after watching him several times vs the Colts fielding punts, he has poor lateral quickness, very poor spatial awareness which will hurt him as a WR. He doesn't make the Lions WR corps better whatsoever, IMO.

Look...it is on me...at the end of the season is typically what Ballard says. Empty words, once there aren't enough results at the end, even if they are true.

There's no responsibility for Ballard's actions. He's allowed to do whatever he wants. He was able to survive this long because Luck retired, now he's going to hold on another couple of years because of Anthony Richardson. Always an excuse, always mediocrity.

I am beginning to question whether we as an organization really want to compete this year.  I think the writing is on the wall....without our QB....we have a losing mentality this year.  Yet.  Why can't we just make our team better with trades now looking forward to next year?  Why do we constantly have to wait until the frigging draft ALWAYS?

We really need a CB to just get through the season. Having to watch what we saw Sunday is kind of ridiculous. Just needs to be serviceable.

Well, might as well see if a playoff team can offer us a high 1st rounder for Pittman, right? Another 1st rounder would be nice. But I am dreaming though, Pittman ain't A J Brown or Adams or Tyreek Hill, the best is a late 2nd rounder.

If a playoff team gave you a late 2nd rounder and threw in an additional 5th rounder for Pittman, would you bite? Honest question for folks. This is like the Leonard Williams trade for the Seahawks.

You’re “beginning to question”?  Welcome to the party.

Okay I’m accepting that we’re doing nothing to improve the team this season.  But how about addressing needs so we can be competitive next season?  And let’s not count on the draft to solve everything.

Pass rush, depth on the Oline, and a WR who can get some separation.    And, of course CBs who can actually play.

Let's sit back and look at what Chase Young is.

He's in the final year of his rookie contract.

His history:

2020 - 15 games played / 15 games started / 7.5 sacks / 44 tackles / 10 tackles for loss

2021 - 9 games played / 9 games started / 1.5 sacks / 26 tackles / 3 tackles for loss

2022 - 3 games played / 2 games started / 0 sacks / 5 tackles / 0 tackles for loss

2023 - 7 games played / 6 games started / 5 sacks / 15 tackles / 6 tackles for loss

Chase Young is more about his potential than about his past performance.  He was injured.  A lot.  Yes, he made the pro bowl his rookie year.  Yes, he's playing will this year.  And if he continues to play well, he's gonna want a big, fat contract next year.

But the bottom line is, there's a risk involved.  Do you want to give a guy with a history of injury a great big contract?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  We don't know if CB even made an offer.  It's possible he may have.  It's also possible that the R**skins may have taken the 49'ers' offer simple to give their player a better landing place than our team.

You don’t trade a high draft pick for 8 games unless your a SB contender.  There isn’t enough time to get a extension done and chase has major injury issues.

If we got him and he returned to form, why wouldn’t we sign him again?

QB, LT, Pass rusher - the building blocks for good teams.  He was a need.

I’d want to re-sign Pitt as our WR2, but if a contender offered a 1st I’d bite in an instant.

Yup Ballard should have made that trade. 34.5 career sacks

No way.   He is in the last year of his contract so the Colts would essentially be renting him for this season that doesn't look to be a playoff season.

Our 2 is better than the 49ers 3.  Simple as that.

And you don’t get a hit if you don’t swing the bat.  It would have been a cheap tryout for us.

Tge best time to do a trade is in March and April leading up to the draft.  That’s when you get the most value.

Doing a trade at the trade deadline gets you much less value.   That’s why Ballard tries to avoid trading at the deadline.

He’s having his best season so far and I think you should alway be wary of players having career seasons in contract years.

But, he was shipped for a 3rd. He’s worth taking a chance on for a 3rd.

I don't disagree with you.  It was a risk/reward thing.  And if it worked out, that's some reward.

A high first round pick?!?   For MPJ?!?

I appreciate you’re angry right now, but the Colts wouldn’t even get a first of any kind.   Even a late first.  Trades at the deadline are badly discounted.    Trading Pitt now is not going to come close to bringing what you want.
