Am I the only one who gets progressively annoyed with the way players handle themselves during contract disputes? I would much rather him just state that he's holding out than do ... whatever it is that he's doing now.

I don't get annoyed by it, it's part of the business. I don't like it, but this is the way it goes.

He went from 12.3 to 9.3.  Drop off sure, but not quite as dramatic lol.

A drop of of 25 percent is huge.   It’s not normal.   When it happens there are reasons why….    More than just Pittman isn’t very good.

I agree, we also have the money to pay Taylor a reasonably great contract. I wouldn't give Taylor anything crazy but 13 or 14 Mill over 3 years at his age is not going to make or break our Salary Cap.

And paying him is not going to make us contenders the next two years.

It is money that should be used for others extensions or rolled over for other opportunities when we are close to contending.

There is nothing new about this mode of operation. It is a hard nosed way of doing business but wisely the best approach to attaining the Ultimate goal.

For your Colts, we should see how well things are coming together say by mid-season, and if it's looks impressive and he is healthy, then perhaps see if he can agree.

I remember listening to a coiple ofcpod casts and how a couple of thr guys were less than impressed with JT after a game. They thought he lacked accountability in some of his comments and was 1st out of the locker room. I predicted this is going to get messy before it gets good. Thr problem is that u can't trade him because of the rb market. JT is in an unwinnable situation. He has one year  left heading into a contract year. He won't sit and he needs to out forth maximum effort. Therefore, the Colts are in the driver's seat and who cares if his feelings are hurt.

Definitely effected by the crappy team around him no doubt.  I didn’t see that you had typed the 2 instead of the 1.

This I also agree with.  Footballs hard, especially RB.  I don’t care how they fight for their dollars.

BUT I wouldn’t give them big long term money.

Irsay needs to learn when to shut his mouth. This does nothing positive. It could lead to Taylor never playing for the colts again.

Who are you to tell Irsay he needs to shut his mouth?

I appreciate him putting Taylor on notice. Sounds like he needs to be.

We're not caving, that's what I heard, and that's good.

Not good to create resentment with your star RB.

Taylor and his agent are the ones creating it.

They are overplaying their hand.

Irsay can say what he wants. It doesn’t mean he made a good move here.

I think these agents are doing their clients a disservice.

Classic Irsay, never afraid to Tweet his mind. Gotta love him for his authenticity for better or worse.

What I take from that is that Irsay feels the Colts have offered JT a market competitive contract. I’m super curious to know how far apart they are.

I don't think it was a bad move by Irsay at all. I think it was needed. Happy he put them on blast, not just Taylor, all of them.

Guy is literally coming off of surgery. Finish your contract and show your worth a new big deal.(I'm sure he's been offered a big deal already).

He feels pressure from the other RBs to make a stand. He needs to take a look at what Barkley did and start taking care of himself.(he got a little more than FranTag, but it didn't help the broader RB argument, in fact hurt it)

This is becoming a circus. That's JT's agent

I have some strange feeling, they're trying to get like $20m. Tackles are getting $25m WRs approaching $30m.

Taylor might end up getting traded.

I would pull the best offer for him on the table currently and make him play it out.

Tag next year if he stays and isn't traded.

Nice profile pic agent.

Taylor has the same agent as Leonard.

No one will trade for him and pay him. These running backs are stuck.

They understand it but they have to work to get as much money for their clients as possible. That is the job of the agent. Sometimes it may backfire but the agents are not doing their jobs if they don't try to get as much as they can for their clients. McCaffrey and Henry got good deals.

Someone would trade for him if that is the route we went.

I do agree, these RBs aren't going to find what they are looking for on the open market. I think the teams are aligned in this battle.

A good agent recognizes the market value. Seems these agents don’t understand the market value for running backs. Neither of those guys would get that deal today.

These agents need to realize a WR is more Valuable then a running back. Pittman is way more valuable in a passing league then Taylor.

You pay the player not the position. No one is gonna say Pittman is more valuable then Taylor
