Bills' RB Hines to miss 23/24 season

That sucks, I was hoping he was going to shine (for his sake) if used properly.

Maybe, but idk? He would be stealing his brothers opportunity.

 

Bills don't have the money anyway($4.9m). They could free some up, but doubt it. Would've cleared it up for Hopkins first.

 

Need to let the other Cook brother get his shot.

 

They signed Latavious Murray also this off-season.

 

Maybe a Kareem Hunt signing might make some sense, to fill that receiving back void, and a little cheaper.

Moss is the better RB straight up anyway 

Got an extra pick also(Will Mallory)

Have Moss on rookie deal this year

Hines out for the season with $3m(ish) dead cap hit for Bills

Hines was the punt and kick returner mostly. The no 4 back, so he wasn't running the ball much. Still a loss on special teams for them.

Hines was a good weapon here when he had great QB play = Andrew Luck in 2018 and Philip Rivers in 2020. He was fast and a great playmaker. Look up his stats in 2018 and 2020 which proves my point. 

 

Regarding Dalvin Cook, he won't go to the Bills because his brother is there trying to prove himself, JMO.

That's terrible but I'm glad it was not worse.

 

People really need to be careful.  It's not hard to avoid a stationary jet ski

My bet is there is either

a) more to the story and that's coming out for contract reasons 

b) the person who hit Hines didn't realize you need to throttle to turn a jetski. Most people treat it like a car and soon as panic comes in, they let off the gas but jetski isn't going to turn without a little throttle.

I was at Navy Pier in Chicago this summer and watched a group of guys being pretty crazy on jet skis.  They were following a boat and jumping off it's wake.  It looked like they would flip over

 

I'm guessing there was something like that going on

Hines was sitting on a Jet ski in the water, not going anywhere.   Apparently another person in a jet ski didn’t see him and slammed into Hines.   It sounds like Nyheim’s injury is full blown surgery and not arthroscopic.   Out for the season.   He’s got one more year in his contract, but if the Bills want/need to, Hines would be an easy salary cap cut.

He was fun to watch, and had some big games for us. Hope he can recover and do some more celebratory back flips next year.

Id guess its probably a broken tibia or ankle. Wish him a speedy recovery.  

 

Always need to know your surroundings. I unpowered jet ski is like a sitting duck sometimes. 

Either a freak accident or major negligence. Jet skis are usually pretty safe.

Good luck to him in a full recovery. Getting injured in a recreational activity sucks.
