Using 21 on jones is not cheap. He has no special traits. Lance could be interesting but with as many QB needy teams I doubt he drops.

 

Not having stability is just sad. It has to be figured out soon.

Jones has a high floor, but a really low ceiling compared to the rest of the QBs in this class.  He improved his stock in my book during Senior Bowl week.  But there are some minor red flags. 

 

1) He's not mobile

 

2) His arm strength is merely above average

 

If I was going to take a QB in this class, it would not be him, unless he's around in the 4th.

I don’t think the Texans are interested in trading him right now. If they do probably closer to the draft.

 

Brees is going to announce his retirement so that frees up the Saints to sign Winston before FA. He will probably be off the market.

We’ve gone back and forth on this but I really don’t see how there is any upside to Darnold. I get that he’s playing for a terrible organization from top to bottom but there just hasn’t been anything to show you that he’s the guy.

There wasn’t for Tannelhill when the Titans got him away from Gase either.  I am not all in on Darnold but the turn around seen by Tannelhill when got away from Gase makes it possible to believe Gase just isn’t a good coach of QBs.

 

That’s why I expect the Jets to keep Darnold for another year and if he shows little to no improvement draft a QB next year.

The Jets are in position to draft a QB this year. They may not be in this position next year.

I edited my post. I used the wrong word. I meant that it is not useful to post everything found on Twitter. Some folks seem to browse Twitter to find the latest news without checking to see if the person posting the Tweet is credible.

Im not convinced hes any better than Jacoby, though he might be if we brought him in.  Id offer a third and if they dont take it, let the offer stand until we find something else.

 

I would not do a first or second, he barely hit 3000k yards once in the last three years
