Hines is a Pat Kirwan favorite...   and comped him to...   Dion Lewis...   said he also ran between the tackles surpridingly well for s back if his size...

 

Ive never bought the comparison to Darren Spoles...   in style?  Maybe.   But not in size..   Spoles is a little tank.   I think the Lewis comparison is the most accurate.

Yeah I said Sproles earlier , it was because of his speed. This guy looks awesome!

Sorry...,   I wasn't trying to single you out...   not at all...    I read the Spoles comp more than any other...    I just think Lewis is a better comp.

I knew you wasn't but I said the same thing others did regarding Sproles. That is what made me laugh when you Posted that.

This pick has multi layers to it.....in one player we get a dynamic returner, a slot receiver and a change of pace/scheme running back.

 

This means we don't have to hold onto a "returner" only players like Josh Ferguson or a wide receiver that adds nothing in the passing game!

Not sure if it's been posted, but if you guys should watch his post combine interview on the NFL Network.  What a great personality!  You can tell by listening to him that he's the type of guy Ballard wants on our team.

we just have not seen him produce much between the tackles and he seems to be pretty quick to head for the edge

I definitely agree. Sproles is roughly 5’ 6” and 190 lbs. Hines is 5’ 9” and cose to 200. Not a huge difference quantitatively, but a tremendous difference functionally... This new stable of backs can be electric behind an improved line!

I hope he learns to take a little better care of himself with us. Every run I saw that he doesn't score on, he outruns his blockers, weaves through traffic and then takes an incredible hit from a defensive player coming from his blind side.  He has s fearless running style.  I can't wait to see him play, just don't want him injured.
