Peyton to miss extended time

See my avatar?.

I live in Newyork. Luck and Peyton are out. That's my 3rd team. There is no jumping.

I don't think the Colts are done though. Luck may still be back. And Hasselbeck is the man. We may still even win the division.

I didn't know you lived in NY thuogh, so thanks for clarifying.

Not at all my friend. As always, you explained it way better !

I forgot one. Whenever football fans think Tom Coughlin is about to get fired from the Big Apple he wins the SB. #On A Wing & A Prayer. #Helmet Catch. #Boston Butterfinger Incompletion. Okay, I'm done now.

I can appreciate what Bill, Brady, Josh, & Mat have achieved thus far, but my Giants loyalty runs very, very deep. Enough said.

Forgive me for speaking on your behalf Shane, but to answer your question Jules, Eli & company have the experience & patience to give NE a run for their money #kryptonite

Big Blue made the Patriots go 18-1 before. Let's see if NY can continue that SB spoiler tradition. I'm game. LOL! Plus in 2007, the G-men lost in the regular season too. #History Repeats Itself.

I had picked the Giants before the 2007 and 2011 SB's to beat the Pats due to their defense and mostly pass rush. If by chance this game happens again, I am going for NE probably this time around assuming they have key players in one piece there.

I actually think the biggest threat to NE from the NFC would be the Cardinals. Those guys are bad azzzzz.

I can see your point though with the Pats/Giants patterns though......they don't last forever though with trends.

As for this thread to stay on topic a bit......I have no idea whats going to happen with Peyton. No clue at all.

Andrew isn't just gonna bounce back from a lacerated kidney Jules. Even if Matthew wins the AFC South division crown, Luck will be rusty & I'll bet that the Colts medical staff won't rush his healing process.

Chewy is probably done for the year. I know; I know SW1 is no doctor. I do look good wearing a stethoscope & white lab coat though. Costume party joke.  :P  I agree with Shane. Luck is done this year.

Bad AZZZZ...Cute line there Jules & you're right especially the way the Cardinals came back to beat Seattle on their home turf. Wow! I laughed out loud when Carson Palmer did his pelvic thrust gesture. The NFL shows beer & Viagra commercials all the time & then Goodell & the powers that be act so shocked over Palmer's tiny gesture of defiance. HA! HA! What a joke!

I will acknowledge that Big Blue's pass rush isn't as great as it once was, but Big Blue still got to Brady & knocked him down. Just like Rex Ryan's defense did on MNF. It's all about coaching & Coughlin still knows what he's doing minus say the last minute & a half in regulation. The other thing to keep in mind is that NE's offensive line isn't great right now & that weakness will cost them done the stretch. Something INDY has always struggled with uneven o-line play...Yes, Brady is a tremendous QB but he was chewing his linemen out vs the Bills & it was getting under Tom's skin.

Never apologize for speaking your mind Jules. It's your best asset to me. Peyton's tenure with the Broncos is over now. You said it & you were right. No need to apologize for that. All careers end sooner or later.

WE will win the Division and Luck will be back. I just dont know if anyone can beat the Patriots. I thought Denver could with a healthy Peyton and it was also because of their Defense but Brock isn't doing ish IMO. The Colts may have the best chance to knock off the Pats come Playoff time as funny as that sounds. It sure wont be the chokeMaster Dalton. Cincy probably 1 and done again.

With Manning sidelined for multiple weeks, the Broncos will look to add depth at quarterback. The team is expected to work out former Minnesota Vikings starter Christian Ponder on Wednesday.

This certainly doesn't look good does it? Peyton out til Mid December. Ouch. Sorry Gramz. I know this turn of events is devastating news to you especially.

My condolences also to OUM, Shane, FX Stryker, Jvan, Dwg, Chad just off the top of my head. The mind is strong, but the body just refuses to cooperate anymore. Sigh...We all knew this day would come.

Thanks, SW1.   I am not sure why everyone thinks this is so "devastating" for me.

I'm probably handling it better than most.   haha

Would I love to see him ride into the sunset with the :lombardi:  ??   Of course. That's The stuff movies are made of.  But this is Football and Real Life.

If he doesn't,   will it ruin my life?   Heck No.  He's had a great run, brought a lot of excitement to the game and the NFL over the years.  He's been a great athlete, competitor and role model.   No matter what stories some fans, and those in the media want to spin, the fact is  ---  He is,  He has been, and He always will be one of the most respected by his peers and  by those who actually play and/or coach.

As I have stated numerous times,  I just want him to get healthy.

I applaud your wise & balanced outlook on the Peyton situation Gramz. I guess I thought that given all the cool memorabilia that you have made & collected over the years regarding 18 & his tenure with the Colts & the Broncos as well as his time in Tennessee that when reality hits home Peyton's departure from the NFL landscape will be hard to swallow. I'm not picking on you Gramz BTW because when favorite bands of mine like the Scorpions break up I am crushed for days at least 2 weeks anyway.

There will a tremendous void in Manning's absence. That's all I was driving at. It's gonna feel like a funeral for awhile for me anyway. However, I do commend you on your perspective anyway. True, football isn't real life, but it's a nice diversion when real life matters are undergoing some trying times at the moment & guys like Peyton Manning help people get entertained & forget their troubles for a little while.

Nicely stated, Gramz! Peyton Manning is the epitome of pure class. Bar none.

I would think if Brock plays well the next 3 games then Manning will not be inserted back in but will be his back up the rest of the way. Denver's schedule is pretty nasty too so these next few games are critical for the playoff race and division.

I think that's wrong a.m..

If The Broncos WIN the next 3, he'll play on.

There no 'if he plays well' Kubiak knows what a healthy Peyton can do..he's been on the other side of it.

I'm still optimistic. Gramz...

Here's one scenario. Peyton sits out the next 3 games. His foot injury isn't going to totally heal, if I understand it correctly.

But his other health problem (shoulder, ribs, which may have been why he's seemed to wince when he throws) will heal.

Denver goes 3-1 without him...counting the Bears game. Brock did his job but Kubiak and Elway know he's not ready for a successful playoff run and switch back to Peyton for the final games.

Peyton plays and the Broncos win the final 3 (Pittsburgh, Cincy and SD) to go 13-3 and take the No. '2' seed, giving Denver (and Peyton) another bye week.

Manning's best 2 games this year came after the bye week. He hates missing 4 games but he admits it helped him.

With a home playoff win, Denver plays at NE (or hosts the Colts!!) in the AFC title game.

I'd like to see that and I think its very possible.

Manning's target game to return is the Steelers, http://www.milehighreport.com/2015/11/26/9804756/report-mannings-return-date-is-week-15-against-the-pittsburgh-steelers

No guarantee though that he will get his job back even if healthy:

"The official release was that Manning would be out at least two weeks -- my understanding is it's at least three weeks (from playing)," Rapoport said on NFL Network. "Here's why: He's going to be in a cast for up to 10 days, then he's got another week of rehab, and then he's got to try to get on the field. So the date to circle on your calendar is Dec. 20 against the Steelers. That's the most realistic date that Manning could be back, but no one has guaranteed to me that he'll definitely be back on the field, especially if Brock Osweiler is playing well."

Just messin' with ya...

Many thought he may not play again. I figured he would and called it. He is just too competitive to sit on the bench and let an opportunity like he had pass playing with one of the best Defenses of all-time. IMO he wouldve had to have something broken or in a wheelchair not to come back. I tried to tell people on here that believed he was done until I was literally blue in the face that he would come back and Denver would win the SB but they wouldn't listen. Patriots fans didn't want him back either because deepdown they knew with Peyton that Denver has a better shot at winning the SB. Brock wasn't winning no SB, Brock wasn't beating the Patriots. Peyton had the experience to do so.

I bet she is using every excuse in the book is to why Manning won, from he played lousy so it was his Defense who deserves all of the credit, to HGH, and so on. I wont talk about her too much because she isn't here to defend herself but I know I am right on this one. I would also bet she would defend Tom's performance in the 2001 Season SB vs the Rams where he wasn't good at all. She wanted Brock to play so badly and Peyton not to come back I could see right through her Posts easily.

I'd say it's for good. I'm all for inclusion of all teams except that one. Anyone can agree this forum has been 10x better place to be and beneficial for fans of 31 teams if you leave one out.

There are a few Pats fans that chat here that I am cool with. I just get a kick out of how most of their fanbase hate Peyton. As in most aren't reasonable with their hate by saying he isn't a Top 5 of all-time. Of course being a Colts fan and a guy who loves Peyton, I don't care for Tom much either. Having said that I think Tom is a Top 5 QB of all-time and can admit that but I have common sense. When you deal with certain people and they say Peyton isn't a Top 5 of all-time than you know they are delusional. Dude has 2 Rings and 5 MVP's. At least have a reasonable point of view when you Post is all I say.
