Colts FS Delano Howell's neck injury is not believed to be career-ending.

Howell has spent much of the week in Minneapolis meeting with a specialist to determine the next course of action. The Colts will talk to the doctors Friday. Howell remains out indefinitely. Mike Adams is filling in next to LaRon Landry.

Your pushing hard for the Purifoy move! haha

I think im gonna hop on your bandwagon!

Dude really impressed me from the first 10 seconds of the game. Big hit on the opening kickoff and was good from then on out

And if we move him to safety, we're also keeping an extra CB in case of a CB injury (knocks on wood)

Can't stash him on the PS cause he's gonna be snatched up right up

Yeah Purifoy is on the final 53 if we want to keep him no way he clears waivers. He looked pretty good returning punts too.

It looks like we are could to end up with a nice group of players from this UDFA class. I guess Grig's wasn't kidding when he said something like 10 of the UDFA's were on our big board. It would guess 3 to the final 53 at least.

Place him on IR, move Purifoy to safety or give McDonald a chance to run with the ones this Saturday

I agree with you 100% on Purifoy not sure about McDonald yet though... We do have a great group of UDFA'S.

McDonald looked pretty good with the backups. But with Howell being out for most likely significant time, gotta give everyone a chance to prove themselves

We know what we have in Mike Adams, so let the young guys get a bang at it

A lot of our UDFA's could be picked off on the PS. I hate how the NFL allows that. Get your own UDFA you scavengers!!! :Gaah:

But only maybe 25 players on our current roster are locks to make it. If you're a 2nd string guy, you better show out in the late 3rd & whole 4th QTR when the starters come out to solidify yourself as depth or even starter depending on the position

And for the 3rd stringers, probably only gonna get the 4th game to show yourself

I agree about the practice squad players but we ended up with Roger's that way. You should get 3 protected or something.

I am not so sure there are that many spots up for grab. I think our roster is pretty set a couple of battles still going.

I think the skill positions are set only decision is 5 or 6 WR's 3 or 4 TE's but we know the names  RB QB done deal.

Kerr v  McKinney about all that's unsettled on D Line.

O Line Holmes Mewhort Thorton Cherilus Castanzo Harrison Reitz then probably Louis and Nixon don't think that is changing much.

Tough calls are going to be at LB we are going to end up losing someone there maybe Sheppard although he looked good vs the Giants. Cam or Studebaker can't keep them all. It would be nice to get something for one.

DB's will be some tough decisions too.  Managing who to keep and who we can sneak on the PS.

All good problems but still going to lose some guys on D this yr to cuts.

Good news that it's not career ending but I would guess he's going to be out a while, if not all season.

it's just like the Bradshaw thing.  once you see a guy get 2nd and 3rd opinions and flies all over to get those opinions, count him out....put a fork in him for the season.

    • I think you're working from some assumptions that I don't agree with. First, it seems like you believe "the system" produces 32 relatively equal draft boards, and it's pretty obvious that's not the case. Second, it seems like you believe that if a team picks a player in the 4th round, that means they must have had a 4th round grade on him, otherwise they would have drafted him earlier.   It's possible that a team feels more strongly about a player than other teams. They could have Player X as their 30th player, and Player Y as their 35th player. The team is on the clock at #40, both players are still on the board, the team takes Player X. A few picks go by, Player Y is still on the board, they start trying to move up from wherever they sit in the next round, but a trade isn't coming together. They wind up staying put, and are able to draft Player Y -- their 35th ranked prospect -- at #75 or whatever. They had a high 2nd round grade on him, and got him in the middle of the third. Maybe they'd felt like they got lucky because things went their way. But drafting him in the third round doesn't mean they only viewed him as a third round prospect; what would make that scenario possible is the fact that every team works from their own board, and there are major variances from team to team.
    • I doubt that. The reason is because not a single WR was selected the rest of the 2nd round, as borne out by how that 2nd round went. So any other GM still chose not to draft a single WR after the AD pick (either felt they didn't need one or had already gotten one), so your statement is not supported by how things played out. Whether it was Ballard at 52 or Ballard at 56 that he traded down to, he would have still found AD as value and pulled the trigger, is my contention.
    • For what it’s worth: there are videos of a younger Chris Ballard ranting and cursing about college players getting anonymous negative reports. He really gets heated on that subject.
