So a couple things here. I have read tons and tons and tons of analysis on both of these guys. I have watched game tape. good and bad. at no point have i seen assessments that state that Richardson is more fundamentally sound than Levis. I have seen huge faults listed for both of them. But nowhere have i seen people lauding how fundamentally sound Richardson is. I lump them both together as having huge ceilings they both have not reached yet...Levis included. If you want to pin the hopes on Richardson having a potentially higher ceiling based on a 3 year age difference and more elite rushing ability, I would buy it 100%. But i wouldnt say he has a higher ceiling because he is more fundamentally sound. I am in no way whatsoever saying one equals the other but i found this interesting. Here are some quotes: "I can't remember being in such awe of a quarterback in my decade of attending combines and pro days. The ball just explodes out of his hands." "The workout was Star Wars. It was unbelievable." ""He's like a video game. There's not a throw he can't make and there's some he can make I'm not sure anyone else can make. That's exciting." "From a physical skill set perspective, I've never seen a college quarterback with more ability. You put the tape on and it's frightening. The only thing that's going to keep him from being great is him. What it comes down to is you've got to figure out whether or not this kid wants to be the best quarterback in football. If he wants to be the best quarterback in football, he can be." ""He has a cannon for an arm, can make all the throws and has great size. Heck, he looks like a tackle playing quarterback. I just don't see the pinpoint passing, the great timing of the throws" "1) Arm Strength: A Many scouts already believe that he has one of the strongest arms ever by a quarterback. However, his ability to utilize his powerful arm in relevant situations is still an unknown commodity. 2) Arm Accuracy: C+ While assessing his accuracy is extremely difficult to do considering his lack of playing time, I believe that a C+ is a fair assessment of his current abilities. He will have to greatly improve his accuracy in order to become the quarterback that everyone hopes he will be. 3) Release: B+ He has the ability to get rid of the ball with ease, and he can hit targets downfield without taking too large of a stride. This quality should prove extremely valuable to him throughout his tenure within the NFL. 4) Mobility: B He showed the ability to move outside of the pocket very well, and it is fair to assume that he will be able to do more of the same at the NFL level. Furthermore, his size and power will allow him to run through some of the smaller tacklers in a way that most other quarterbacks would never be able to do. 5) Awareness: C I do not believe that he has the on-field awareness yet to lead a team to the upper ranks of the NFL. However, this quality will improve over time, as most quarterbacks tend to improve their awareness with experience." Does any of this sound familiar to anyone else? To me these all sound like Richardson evals.....the thing is you know who literally alllll these things were said about? Jamarcus Russell Now look, Richardson should not be Russell. He is more mobile and dynamic. His rushing prowess should give him some form of success on its own. But Russell was lauded as a young (21 when drafted) raw prospect and he never achieved any bit of greatness. All I am saying here is that the young and raw aspect has equal parts bad associated with the good. I am on record as saying I prefer Richardson. So I am not even trying to bash Richardson. I am just saying those that bash Levis while praising the untapped potential of Richardson are biased and blind to things. Levis has literally only started for one season more than Richardson. He is not even close to reaching his ceiling. And frankly if he had his 2021 season this year he would be far and away picked above Richardson. He is coming at a "discount" since he had the struggles that he did during a brutal season at UK as a whole. If he lands in Indy it is not doom or gloom. Though i admit i am sincerely hoping for Richardson myself. I just do not share the venom for Levis is all

Colts usually value high RAS scores so keep that in mind -

Him being here now doesn't mean he will be here for the season. There are no cut off line in his contract.
