I just watched the first half of the Ravens game again.
D'Joun Smith was playing and looked good.
George Bremmer reported:
...That doesn't even take into account situations like second-year cornerback D'Joun Smith's, where the team is trying to balance the need to play and evaluate him against his continuing recovery from a knee injury. He currently is on about a 10-play pitch count, and that could be ramped up as his knee responds.
After a full 2 days of digesting this news, I feel a lot better LOL. And let's be honest, our secondary is gonna be nasty when Vontae does return. May sound like I've got rose-colored glasses on, but Vontae's injury could be a "blessing in disguise," as we just added a very solid CB to the roster. Considering they just handed him a $1mil check, it's probably safe to assume he's not getting released when Vontae's back, he's officially part of the plan now. I like it.
That 3rd and 16 (or was it 3rd and 12) pass while down 12-13 to the Steelers to Fowler from Peyton in the 4th qtr. was probably the best and key moment in that game. Frankly, I didn't think that conversion was going to happen. That set up the Broncos to keep the drive alive, go up 20-13 and then the D took over.
