Give up a second and sign him to an expensive contract I assume.  Better them than us.

agreed......part of this deal apparently was that he be signed for at least $17 mil a year.

He's a pass rush specialist....good player ..not '$17 mil good'

Better get used to the Brave New World of the NFL. The cap continues to rise, and the salaries will follow.  The top non-QBs are now seeing the money. Maybe Ford is worth it; maybe he isn't. But this is just the start of the new high $ world of the NFL. The Fords of the world are now going to cost you a Mercedes salary.

If ZaDarius Smith can get what he got...then a guy with 13 sacks and 7 FFs last season should get paid IMO. He also came up huge in the playoffs...just too bad he was lined up where he was. Would have been a hero in KC.

I think when it comes to pass rushers...nothing should really surprise us anymore.

Setting aside these stupid-expensive price tags.... the 49ers defense definitely gets better with Alexander and Ford... and if they decide to add Bosa or Quinnen Williams with that 2nd overall pick they’re gonna have a nasty front 7.

I really don’t care if they are making a killing in salary but i wished the nfl could think of the average joe fan who has to pay through the nose to go see and game and with salaries like this, when is the fan breaking point? Mine already came in my cash flow and family time. I gave up the season tickets because the cost wasn’t nearly worth taking a family to Cancun or Bahamas trip that could be had for half what I spent in the season tickets and venue prices. I know the majority of money is earned from TV and advertising stuff but as player salaries rise into the multi millions, I just wished we fans could be given some repreive as well.

Now... now.... don’t be so tough on Granny! :lecture:

Lynch must see something he likes.... and with that #2 pick they have a really good chance to improve as a unit.

Exactly.

The GM's and Fans that have 'sticker shock'  are going to have to grasp that we ate no longer in yester-years world or their teams will never separate themselves from the pack.
