Part of what works against Jackson is the fact that there is this college kid that everybody seems to be raving over that is a freak athlete at 6'4" 250 #s that played the QB position one year last year. Most teams that would want to rebuild would choose the runner that is bigger, stronger, younger, less mileage; who only costs one draft pick and 25% of Jackson's asking price to get. Teams will be investing capital to surround AR with the right kind of players to make his skills useful in the NFL, and teams will have to do that as well for LJ, but would need to invest a lot just to get LJ......and then there will be more college players coming out like AR/LJ in the ensuing years. You know what they say about the longevity of RBs in the NFL....well.. the same dynamic will apply to running QBs too...where teams will look to replace them with college rookies after about 5 years. In the big look of the landscape QBs like LJ will be facing, I'd think LJ should feel blessed that at least one team wants to give him $130M guaranteed money at this point in his career.

While I mostly agree with this, the two teams that had no problem letting him go have Trevor Lawrence and Jalen Hurts. No wonder they had no problem moving on.. -
Ideally he starts until our new rookie QB is ready, whenever that is. Hopefully Irsay will have patience at let the coaches develop the rook. No matter the record. But I doubt it.

Jackson is losing millions because he did not want to pay an agent that probably would have gotten him the money he is asking for. "Spend a dollar to save a dime" never works for anyone.
