Cousins VS RG3

Many here thought Cousins was terrible and Gruen was responsible for RG3's bad play. I guess live and learn ?

I don't think rg3 is done. He just needs the proper personnel and mentality to revive himself. Belichick or arians would be the cure but unfortunately they are not hiring. Would make the perfect backup for luck though.

I'm not saying RG3 is done. But your comparison (IMO) is not really apples to apples.

Maybe , but sure is a pretty strong word. I hope he does as it's pretty sad to watch him on the sidelines. I'm shocked that Cousins looks this good .. I guess Gruen was smarter than most gave him credit for.

Going in to the game yesterday Cousins completion % was 67.3, the best in the NFL. No one can predict the future but RG3 has one heck of a mountain to climb just to get respectability much less success.

Yeah.. some are saying he's been terrible because he didn't get a chance to sit and watch. He's been tutored by two very good QB head coaches and 4 years later , his mechanics are borderline horrible. His instincts are as bad as I've ever seen.. zero pocket presence . Plus he's very injury prone. 

 

What he does have is speed and arm talent . That will give him another shot but IMO it will not be as a starter. Some team will bring him in as a back up and then as you say the "climb" will begin. I guess there is a chance one of the 4-5 teams that are weak at QB signs him and then the starter is injured . Then RG3 somehow comes in and is good and etc etc. But IMO it's pretty unlikely that this happens.

RG3 is going to get another chance elsewhere.  Cousins is going to be the man in Washington for the time being.

Cousins is one of the great stories of this season. He has looked great in Gruden's offense. And kudos to Gruden as well for taking the East. A worst to first turn around. Very impressive.

 

In terms of RG, I am sure he will get another chance with another team.

Both QB's had one good season as the Redskin quarterback. Let's not act like Cousins is the savior. We'll see next season.

Guys... did you ever not hit a letter hard enough on your keyboard ? If you put the "d" in Gruen .. you would get Gruden. Actually as Im typing Gruden , my laptop is defaulting to Gruen... strange . Anyway , I hope this solves this mystery for you all.

Cousins had a great second half of this season.   He did it running a pro style offense,   not a one read and then run offense

What happens to me is if I start to answer a post and don't end up doing it , it stays "active " in the thread. Then when I reply to another post , it includes that post that I hit quote on and never answered. Stays forever as I have no idea of how to get rid of it. I deleted what that person said but can't delete his name.

I knew he couldn't play football for a college. I was just stating that he has a year of college eligibility left. It was for the guy trying to make an issue on Gruen.

Maybe RG3 just isn't a very good QB.  Curtis Painter wasn't, why not RG3 too?
