Defense and power running attack please

Well he did try with going for Trent R. Just didn't work out. Happens.

I had a lot of problems with that trade.  He spent a year in the league being out-rushed by his backups.  Also, the huge benchpress and squat numbers should have tipped the personnel department off that there might have been something going on with PEDs.  I understand that he has no positive test on record, but I think that there is a case to be made for it.

Defense yes a Power running attack i disagree with. This is a pass happy league you just need to somewhat run the ball effectively to keep the defense true.

Well, three of the teams that played in the Championship games can pound the rock better than most teams if they had to.  So I think you need more than just being somewhat successful at running.  Seattle, NE and GB have OLs that can dominate defenses.  Seattle and NE have defenses that can by physical at the point of attack.  Until we can say the same, we have a ceiling that does not include the SB

In the playoffs you need to be able to run and stop the run. We can do neither. It all starts in the trenches. Many of us has been saying this for YEARS! Good line play makes the skill position better on both sides of the ball. In 2006 we had Bob. There's ni Bob on this team. And benching Werner was stupid as you can get. He may not be the pass Rush specialist everyone hoped for but he is a smart player who seals the edge and plays the run well. I think he needs to be in 93's roll. See that 93 was so invisible I forgot his name. 91 also, he can get some pressure every great once in and awhile. Whooptie fricken do. Philips? Seriously?!? We need a starting caliber NT. I have been 100% behind chapman but he's a back up. Where the heck was Kerr?

I agree with you about the defense.  One thing the 2006 team had that this current team does not is Bob Sanders.  If we could replace LaRon with the 2006 Bob Sanders this team would have easily won last night.  This is the only thing this defense needs is a Bob Sanders like Safety.  There is no fear when it comes to running against this defense because the Colts have no hitters.  I remember some of those hits Bob gave out, but I also remember alot of running back slips and Wide Receiver drops because of the fear of Bob Sanders coming down. LaRon built up like truck but has no hitting power or least he doesn't have none now.  Is there anybody in the 2015 draft like Bob?  If so that should the first pick the Colts go after.  Second round WR, or RB.

So just to be sure, what you are saying is that we need to have a good OL ? if thats what you are insinuating i agree with. Obviously a Mediocre RB will be able to effectively run the ball behind a Good OL

This is the worst post I've ever seen. His benchpress and squat numbers are high so he has a PED problem, even though he hasn't tested positive in his 3 years in the league?  Ignore list you go!

It just simply isn't our year.  We need to have guys like Kerr and Chapman to be a little bit more mature.  Landry is okay but not good enough.  Our OL is downright terrible, and that's sugar coating it.  Our LB's can't cover, and that needs to be fixed.

I've been saying this for years.  You put 5 stout individuals (Pats) on the OL and you will see a mediocre RB (like Jonas Grey), have career days on weak teams.

look at dallas and seattle  offense line.    dallas best line in nfl  reason they  draft  younger players in first 2 rounds .  we draft are in 4 too 6 rounds  they good  too avg.  So we have a sucky offense line against top defense's .  you are what your talent leave is.

Yep, if people think drafting OL outside the top 3 is going to help they're wrong.  They will be put to shame.  Sometimes you get lucky with 5-8 players but not usually on the OL.  That's when skilled players can become diamonds in the rough!

fix the right side of the OL, keept letting Mewhort develope and the running game will come.

I want to know what Mewhort feels his natural position is. I would love to move him to RT and sign Iupati.

Please cut Cherilus. No more. No more Thornton either.

I dont like Costanzo, but he's serviceable. I do believe we could do better and should look for a project left tackle.

Gordon, Gurly and Abdullah could all be available in rnd 1. I don't know if we should pass on these guys. I'd be happy to use a 1 on either of them. I prefee Gordon or Abdullah, but wouldn't mind seeing if we can get Abullah, Yeldon, or maybe Coleman in rnd 2.

I think we should look for ILB and OL help in free agency. David Harris would be a good signing

Now that you mention he does look short yet brawny :)

Anyway my only point was they didn't go out and get say a WR

Pagano should have been a motivational speaker that is one thing he is great at he has Irsay buying into his nonsense

I think Chuck is a good coach.  He is very likable as well, but I don't see a spark in him to fire up the players.  I think that role is best done by the leader of the locker room anyways.

Name the last pass happy team without a running game that won the superbowl

Might wanna re-read my post. I didn't say a running game was not necessary. i said i don't agree that a "Power Running" game is needed. as long as a team is able to effectively run the ball meaning averaging between 80-100 yards a game than that should suffice.

Never said he was stupid I like Irsay sometimes people just fool you

You make it sound like Pagano is a BSer. Pagano may be one of the finest men in football. We will see how his coaching ability is with time. I see no reason for you to insult him because his team lost a game to New England. Did you ever take into consideration what Pagano has done good for this team?

Not insulting him he is a nice man I just think he is over matched and gets out coached and does not adjust well

Dallas was an average team until they started drafting offensive lineman. Would love to see how good Luck could be with great protection and a running game. Offensive lineman are boring pics or FA signings but we need to take a look at as many as we can.

think grigson too afraid  draft ones in top 2 rounds ?
