Well this sunday they broncos will honor at halftime there players from the '77 defense. I know we aren't favorites but usually when a team brings back players from the past to honor them they end up losing. I know ours odds aren't great but tell me you guys haven't noticed this?

1) I have not noticed this "trend"

2) If the Colts lose it will be due to the 2014 Broncos and 2014 Colts - nothing else.

The Giants did this when we played them this season and we beat them. Any other times?

I don't know if it's a trend but I was watching the ESPN story on the Texas USC championship game.  They said the USC brought out people at halftime to honor them and Vince Young went over and congratulated them.  He was that relaxed and cool during the game.

Of course, Texas went on to win.  I don't believe in superstitions, but if the players do it can't hurt.

No one has ever noticed this.

I haven't noticed that trend either.  However, I have noticed that the Colts tend to win when my cat is mad at me.  Therefore, starting Saturday night and continuing into Sunday evening, I plan to torment my cat relentlessly. That should do it.

HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I bet you say that before every game don't you. :D

Right before you put one blue and one white sock on, stand upside down on your head for 5 minutes and drink your beer with your left hand only.....HA!  I have to say, the Colts have a very high winning percentage the days I've worn my colts t-shirt and hat.  I'm not a superfreak about this stuff.  But, I will have them on this Sunday.  Just sayin......

I'm not really superstitious but several things concern about this game.

1. Late game- Colts seemed to have had issues in the past when they get these 4pm EST starts...

2. Toler's knee- He's going to be tested quite a bit as it is. We have to have his best effort. If he's ailing, I'm conerned about him getting beat in coverage or committing interference penalty to save the play. And, I don't trust the depth behind him.

3. Although we had some success rushing against Cincy, this is a much different situation on the road in Denver. We're again going to need a season best performance from the offensive line just to stay in this thing. And we HAVE to be able to get some kind of run game established.

4. I've been impressed with Boom. Like the kid, just concerned about the turnovers. Give Manning a short field at home and this is going to get ugly.

5. We have to be able to complete a higher percentage of passes. The turnovers and dropped balls, although much improved last week, are going to have to be nearly eliminated if we want to have any kind of chance...Really liked the short passes to RB's last week.

6. A lot of people seemed concerned about stopping the run. I'm concerned about those damn tight ends getting open all over the field. They just have too many weapons to shut down. Our LB's are going to HAVE to be able to be better in coverage.

If your cat isn't already spade or neutered then I think Saturday is the day to get it done.

I'm not sure if this is superstition or fact but has anyone noticed the Colts win/loss record in 1:00pm games versus later starts? If so you will see that it doesn't look good for. Or am I just being superstitious? At least we have some Luck on our side.

You betcha. Grew up in one of the neighborhoods just 10-15 minutes from the old horseshoe. I can remember as a kid the roar from the stadium on those Sunday afternoons in the 70's. Bert to Roger Carr bombs. Chuck and Vince on the radio. The Longines (sp?) scoreboard. Those were good times.

That's pretty cool right there. When did they actually tear that stadium down? I understand it sat dormant for a few years?

I eventually enlisted in the military after high school and moved around enough to wind up somewhere else when it was all said and done but it think they finally tore it down sometime just after the turn of the century. I was just there a few months back and now there are some kind of community or municipal buildings in place. That goes to show you how precious our memories really are. If the horseshoe fits, wear it for life!

My Aunt Mary lived on Edner Ave. in the 1960's, a block from Memorial Stadium. When I wasn't at Colt or Oriole games, you could hear the roar of the crowd from outside that row house. I used to go down to the High's convenience store down the street and remember buying Cokes in glass bottles , and underneath the bottle caps they had pictures of Baltimore Colts. What a great time it was.

I never like the Colts playing at 4:30!  Yes, I have noticed it.  It's just an erie feeling I get.  Not sure, it's the time of the game, but probably more to do with who they're playing, and those games are always road games (which does make a difference).

    • As it stands the Eagles are pretty loaded with CBs at the moment after picking up Rodgers then drafting both Quinyon and Cooper in the draft. There have been rumblings of them potentially preparing to move Bradberry. They are currently in need of another WR, so the question I pose is would you be ok with trading Alec to Philly in exchange for Bradberry? Or do you think they should let the current CBs on the roster battle it out? Keep in mind Bradberry is approaching 31 years of age.
    • Exactly. I wanted the Vikes to trade Jefferson. I think being careful not to overpay is important in football. I guess that is why I like Ballard. He does not jump and pay the shiniest free agent all this money. He believes in rewarding his own players.   The only reason I would pay Jefferson is because he has been in our organization and we know him. I prefer paying players who have been with the team and have been good players and good citizens (stays out of trouble, are team players, etc.)
    • It is but as the guys reporting this said Pierce was the only one of the top four WRs working with special teams and not something he’s done in the past.  Like I said it’s early indication,  it can clearly change.
    • Yeah it was a wild game. Cubs are in a funk that is for sure lol.
    • Tatum is a great player but Doncic is better. Both teams basically will have a week off and should come in healthy so there really can't be any excuses for the losing team. Unless a key player gets injured during the series. I still like Dallas in 6. If I am wrong I will be here and tip my cap to you, and say I was wrong.   Regarding football, if you look my top 5 QBs of all-time, I have Brady #1 and I am a diehard Colts fan. I have Brady 1, Montana 2, Peyton 3, Mahomes 4, Unitas 5. The League MVP is the 2nd best thing a QB can win, only winning the Championship is better. So I put a lot of weight on League MVPs. Peyton is top 5 at worse just because of that alone combined with winning 2 Championships. At the end of the year, if a QB doesn't win the Championship, but wins League MVP, most say, he still at least won MVP and was the best player the whole regular season.
