Bradshaw ready to run with Colts

"Any time you can add a guy that's got Super Bowl rings and understands what it takes, has that mindset, put another pro in that locker room, another mentor," Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said. "I mean, the guy's a beast. He's a warrior. I was at Baltimore and we played him, I don't know how many years ago, and I just saw him gut through our defense for a 77-yard run. And that doesn't happen very often to a Ravens front seven and that defense......He's also one of the league's best running backs in pass protection. The advanced stats website Pro Football Focus rated Bradshaw as the league's No. 1 blocking back in 2012, and he's never finished lower than third during his NFL career. That doesn't mean he can't be just as productive with the ball in his hand. Despite being limited to 14 games and 12 starts by the foot injury, Bradshaw gained 1,105 yards on 221 carries and scored six touchdowns last year. All three numbers would have been team highs for the Colts. "Like we always say, iron sharpens iron like man sharpens man," Pagano said. "Every acquisition that we've made, either through free agency, the draft, you name it, we just try to create competition at every position. So the guys that we have, they won't flinch because they've got great character. They got the right mindset. They're great competitors. They're horseshoe guys. This guy, he's another horseshoe guy. Get us one step closer to hoisting that trophy.""

Think it's time for to stay off the forum until the season starts. All this buzz around the team is getting me hyped and more impatient

I'm just glad I haven't heard the phrase "offseason Superbowl" I feel like that automatically jinxes a team. Therefore, with the Tebow signing, I hereby award the Dan Snyder trophy to the New England Patriots. :flyingelvis:

Patriots on "Hard Knocks?"   :)

The hoodie:  "You're with me"

Tebow:  "Blessed."

And that was the end of the story.....or the beginning :)

That would be hilarious. Hoodie would only do HK if it was 55 minutes of dead air and 5 minutes on "no comment" each week.

I love Hard Knocks though, it's my favorite reality show.

Go on, take your money and run...I hope that is not the song Bradshaw is listening to. Maybe his agent Drew Rosenhaus listens to that all the time, hopefully not Bradshaw. :)

I don't doubt that Rosenhaus considered our cap space next season as a motivation to sign here. I can't see how anyone would give him more than a 2 year deal at best and probably everyone wanted to take a wait and see one year approach. So, might as well sign here now...and if you show out, get resigned next season when we have some more cash to award him with. ala DHB.

For what it's worth......

Bradshaw will not be working out with the team for some time....

He's still recovering from off-season surgery on a foot....

He's targeting training camp in late July as his return date.....

Read that in a Kuharsky mention this morning.....

Honestly signing with the patriots is the best thing thing tebow could have done... He doesn't just have a monkey he needs to get off his back, it's an entire freaking circus...

Just a guys opinion but Collin Cowherd did a scale of which teams would be the best fits, he had Pats at #1 and Colts at #2.

Yeah, for about 15 years, five super bowls and three wins. I'd settle for the Colts be overrated like that.

To be fair, I think they have been a bit overrated the last few years. And yes, I realize they went to the SB coiple years ago.

As an aside I'm pretty sure Tebow was acquired to be Bellichek's whipping boy.....literally, I heard he's had a dungeon erected for him and everything....

You beat me to it...I just located the plans.....they must have finished the dungeon!!!  This just in:

    • The run game is dependent more on the blocking than on the ability of the back. Thus... I'm having hard time evaluating Taylor's performance when the OL was having trouble creating push and gaps.   And that's one of the reasons you don't pay RBs big money. Yes, they are fun to watch and some of the best athletes out there... But they are some of the most dependent on other players positions.
    • Glad I didn't bet. I thought the 4.5 would be enough. It was a close game, but you can't not score TDs when you get in the Red Zone. That is also why the Packers lost to the Eagles.   McVay and LaFleur are very tight. Perhaps they should converse about their red zone issues in week 1. Because that needs to change.   I don't want to talk Packers Colts until we know who the QB will be. Probable it will be Malik Willis, but that is not a certainty yet. If it is Willis, he has a skill set that can be used to exploit Indy's defense. Malik has elite arm strength and he can stress a defense with his feet.   Defense will win the game. And I think the Packers D is superior.    The game is in the Packers house. The Packers are also coming into this game wanting blood after what happened in Brazil. This will not be an easy game for Indy. Those that think this game will easily go Indy's way because J-Love is doubtful, are in for a rude awakening.
    • I meant at the time of the contract dispute
    • With Downs getting ready to comeback and the colts now seeming to have lots of weapons on the outside does anyone else think we could see a package where they push Michael Pittman inside to play some tight end on passing downs? This doesn’t seem like a huge downgrade in blocking over Granson and would be a definite speed and route running upgrade.
