Why didn't we play a prevent defense on Jags final TD?

Anybody have a pic or vid of the play? I DVRed the game but I am at work with little to do today. I searched youtube for a couple minutes but found nothing.

Trust me, you don't want to see it!! It's worse than that kickoff return we gave up to Cromrartie in the Jets playoff game.

Zibby deserves some blame....His "play" on that MJD long TD run was atrocious.....

I've been saying he is very underwhelming ever since preseason. Bethea and Powers are our only dependable DB's. Davis has potential but he's involved in too many bone-headed penalties.

Only thought I can come with is they were scared of giving up easy yardage because of Scobey's leg. Just bad coaching IMO.

This^

Colts probably should've tried harder for a TD( so they wouldnt have to worry about Scobee ), instead of forcing the Jags to use their timeouts. But that wasn't necessarily the wrong call either.

I'm sorry but this is a dumb thread...whey didn't we play Prevent defence when they had 1:00 to get into field goal range to win it?

Hm, I don't know...maybe because all they need was a field goal to win it.....Thread fail and close

Nice post pal. 40 yards with no time-outs? And Gabbart throwing? I'd have that any day versus what we did. Anyday.

Of course the Jags will now go and lose to every other team. But, when they play the Colts they THRIVE. And really this should not have happened, I thought when we got the lead we might keep building.

But, no. They thrived. In Jaguars vs Colts fashion.

Thats why I shake my head when we lose to the Jags since it just seems too predictable at times. :hissy: And sometimes I don't even fully judge the Colts based on how they play vs. the Jags since it often happens that we implode.

They are the Pats of the 80's. They would only have a few wins for the season and two of them would be against us.

    • So true. I was watching his presser yesterday as I wanted to get a feel for him after some of the negativity surrounding his personality on the draft day, and I LOVED how happy and excited he was. I had a little fear that some of the fan base would buy into the negativity prematurely and make it a rough start for him, but I don’t think so anymore.    I think he and Latu are both going to be playmakers for us, if not this year then very soon. Have a feeling they bring exactly want this team needed to finally take off. They bring a lot of faith to me, together with Richardson and Steichen. Can’t explain it, but the pieces to the puzzle is suddenly to see on the table.
    • Cubs beat the Pirates tonight but the Brewers won as well, what else is new lol. Cubs are now 23-16, Brewers are 23-15.
    • Couldn’t agree more! The chip on his shoulder is a very good look. That said, I have always valued the “clutch” gene in players.    It’s truly something that can’t be coached and can’t be taught. AD has IT! Period. Exclamation point! He has it. Name a better receiver in the college football playoffs/ championships ever…   You can’t teach that. He has it. He can be that guy. He is the 33-32 Colts over the Pats, 4th and 1, AFC Championship, game changer. He can be that guy… Will he? I have no dang idea. But does he have the ability to be? Yes! Resounding, yes!
    • I absolutely LOVE that Mitchell picked 10 as a constant reminder that 10 WR’s were picked before him.  That is a GIGANTIC chip on his shoulder.   So far I like everything I’m reading about the kid.  There may be speed bump or hiccup some day….  But so far so good.
