The Wilmington News Journal expects the Eagles to trade DE Darryl Tapp before Week 1.

Tapp may be cut if he isn't traded, so interested parties could potentially wait and sign him for cheaper than his $2.575 million base salary. The 28-year-old Tapp registered 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble on limited snaps last season. He's buried behind Jason Babin, Trent Cole, Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, and Philip Hunt on Philadelphia's defensive end depth chart.

People need to understand the switch is gonna take time and there not gonna pick it up in spot playing time in the preseason and practice. Let us at least play half the season before we label him a "disaster" especially consider what he has done for this franchise his entire career defensively.

Hughes was not an OLB in college. He was a DE. he was projected to be drafted as a OLB. There's a difference and everyone gets it wrong. I didn't even watch that draft but knew this.

I agree completly. Freeney has done so much for us and has been positive about the change. Can we not give him a chance before throwing him under a bus? Many linebackers have a 'down' year transitioning their first year. Give him a shot.

Freeney is going to have his hand in the dirt most downs is he not? wouldn't that make him a DE/LB'er? he still knows how to rush the passer so odds are. Hes not going to have a down year anyways.
