It would be nice, but even if they win I bet they go one more season.  Brady still has some left in the tank and Belichick isn't walking away from New England until Brady retires.  Although if it happens, this completely opens the AFC up.

 I remember when he said a few years back Manning was going to retire after SB 48.

 

He was off by two years.

 

Regardless I could see BB retiring and Brady being left to his own devices in 2018 but both of them retiring? No.

Unless Belichick is that upset about the Garoppolo deal, it's definitely not happening now.  Brady is going to be back for sure.

As long as the AFC sucks w.r.t complete teams and consistency in QB play, I don’t see it happening.

At some point you'd think Brady will finally get old (in football years). 

 

If I'm guessing, they'll try to avenge this loss and if it doesn't work, they both retire.

They will both be back. I was going to make a cockroach reference but that would be too demeaning. There will be a lot of change this offseason but they get Edelman back. Add him to Cooks and Gronk...that's a scary offense. If they can add a pass rusher then they will win the AFC again. It used to be the AFC was dominant....you had the Pats, Steelers, Colts, and Chargers....elite teams...now its the NFC that I think have the favorites and most heavy hitters. I still don't see an AFC roster complete enough to beat them. That could change of course. They will just reload and come at it again. The offense without McDaniels might have some hiccups but Brady does most of that at the line anyways....the defense has a ton of Bill's influence....they will be alright.
