Ooops! Another polian pick down the drain. I'm fine with this if it's true, but who in the heck are Fokou and Lloyd?

I wish they could have gotten a little better for him.

They're BOTH LB's. Fokou is pretty Good. No Idea who Lloyd is though. So, our Interior Defense just got a little Better

We did need LB depth, but we also need to strengthen the CB position as well. Guess you got to take what is available

Thomas was terrible, just another horrible pick by Polian. Had no shot of doing anything here, coaches were not impressed at all with him in OTA's. Anything we can get is a positive in my opinion. Slowly but surely getting rid of all the Polian blunders.

Wow this is definitely something, guess justin king really is the starter.

Just because he's starting at the beginning of camp doesn't mean he'll start Week 1.

It's going to be between King, Rucker and Vaughn.

Don't Count on it.With everything that's going on, I'm just gonna sit back and watch. Making predictions is just out of the question now. I predicted Thomas as the #2 CB... and look what just happened

Everyone thought I was crazy saying that King could potentially be a starter or become a good backup, but I was right in the end...

Except the end hasn't come yet. He's not even played a game in a Colts uniform yet.

I'm not saying your wrong, but I'm saying you're not quite right either.

Just because you're right, doesn't mean it's right. Right?

(in other words, I hope that we can improve on King in the long run)

I haven't called you crazy yet, but in one post you add that King may not be the starter by the end of TC, then immediately afterwords you post an I told you so?

You seem to be covering all your bases.

I don't like this trade. I don't think Thomas was as bad as he's made out to be, and while Fokou is starter material, we're now even thinner at corner than we were before.

Thomas had the Polian pick stink on him, meaning certain people dislike him just because it's popular to do so. Truth is, our ridiculous defensive scheme stuck him in a soft zone coverage that hurt all our corners. I think Thomas is going to be an okay corner.

Now I'm interested in how the CB competition is shaping up.

And are we going to trade with anyone other than Philly?

Though I think we'll look at improving anywhere, I'd have to believe that CB & OL will be a focal point in picking up any more cut players, or trades.

Then there's next off season.

No no, I said that he could potentially be the starter at the end of training camp. Then I said that just because he's starting now doesn't mean he'll be the starter at the end of camp. He could be though.

I'm not contradicting anything.

It's FUNNY how the Eagles "Claimed" that their Secondary was "Crowded". That's what they said when they Traded Asante Samuels. But yet they Drafted CB Brandon Boykin in the Draft & now taking one of our CB's? Hmmmm, seems Fishy to Me

They just didn't want Asante anymore. He was causing them to put DRC out of position. The eagles are actually very solid at corner and are just looking for depth. A good trade though for the colts imo.

All I know is Fokou and Llyod have 88 and 87 hit power in Madden respectively haha Not much to go off of. Fokou looks like a solid 'backer. Llyod has potential, I guess. Would've liked Casey Matthews just for his bloodline.

I don't think the Eagles are gonna give up on him after one season.

For me, the most interesting thing to note in the Colts' press release is this....

Edds has cleared waivers and put on the IR...

But no mention of Ijalana. Does that mean some other team claimed him? Can someone keep an eye out for that, please?

As to the trade.... between Grigson and Pagano, I trust they're trading Thomas for better reasons than he was a bad pick made by Polian. The two guys we got back have the talent to make our roster. How much playing time they'll get is the big question.

Here's the press release...

I think Edds was waived before Ijalana was.

    • I guess the whole question is the merits of the report. You report on his diabetes with tons of guesses and speculations and WITHOUT taking the side of the person who's been affected here and who's living and dealing with that condition. You report on the player being uncoachable WITHOUT taking the opinion of his coaches about being coachable or not(and BTW from what I've heard both from Colts and Texas coaches, this is resoundingly NOT TRUE). You report about him being immature and honestly, everything I've seen on the surface suggests the opposite. You report about his combine performance by giving it a pretty harsh reading(the video is in this thread and the account of what happened by McGinn is in this thread... People can actually go and look at what happened and make their own mind about whether the characterization of that workout was fair or not. I will just say you can represent the player stumbling in a drill and going again in various different ways and McGinn chose a specific way to represent it. It was the most negative way you could choose).    You know I had my own reservations about that outburst by Ballard at the presser, but the more I'm learning about Mitchell the more I actually believe in what Ballard was saying and the less merit those reports have in my mind. Maybe I have my own unconscious biases too, now that I have vested interest in Mitchell actually being good for us. I don't know     I guess ultimately none of it matters. AD's success or failure won't depend on some pre-draft reports... it will depend on how he handles himself from now on, how hard he works, his drive to be great and our staff's ability to get the best of him.
    • Hmmm.   ”Healthy excuses will be hard to come by.”    Really?   Richardson, who had less than a thousand snaps in college, then had roughly 200 snaps his rookie year.  There’s one.   And Houston has Stroud who had a great rookie year.  Aren’t most media predicting Houston and JVille ahead of Indy this year?  That’s two without any trouble.     I just think insisting on a division title because a fan thinks it’s time doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny.   Sorry, just my two cents…. And often not worth that much.
    • For me absolutely it does. If Richardson stays healthy excuses will be hard to come up with. As positive as I am with Ballard at some point we have to start winning. He bet on himself by bringing in his own home grown talent this year, what he does at safety in the coming month and a half has me worried as well. We were so close to winning the division last year with a back up QB that my expectation is winning the AFC south this year.    If they make it into the wild card game and lose then the seat is just as hot for me. If they advance further and make a Cinderella run then I’m fully back on board.
    • 3 straight losses for the Reds. They have their moments where they play well. But it’s time to be real. They aren’t a playoff team and will never be as long as the Castillinis own them and David Bell is manager.    De La Cruz is fun, but his career will be wasted on this team.
    • Am I reading this correct?   You think Ballard’s seat gets hot if the Colts don't win the AFC South?  Really?   So if the Colts don’t win the south but make the playoffs Ballard’s seat still gets hot?    Just making sure I understand your viewpoint.
