What roster spot? Langford doesn't count against the roster number since he was on the pup list atleast that's what I thought

That's not how it works until regular season.

Right.  The player must serve at least the first day on Active/PUP (the pre-season version) to be eligible for both Active and Reserve/PUP (the regular season kind) lists.

 

Differences? A player on Active/PUP can come off it and practice immediately at any time, but he always counts against the 90 man roster. A player on Reserve/PUP must  stay on it for a minimum of 6 weeks and can miss up to 12, but do not count against the 53 man roster.
