Yes, because college games don't exist.

Be realistic. There have been plenty of players that have little college footage that have played well (Tom Brady) and plenty that have played a lot of games in good conferences that bust (Trent Richardson). My point is that none of these players are guaranteed to have success, which is people should calm down on judging until they've seen the field.

Tyler Lockett is a better player than Dorsett and we could have gotten him in the 3rd. Man, what a terrible pick....

I agree 100% plus still got Moncrief who was a good find in round 3. We haven't had a problem finding skill positions in the mid to late rounds.

then people need to cool it with the "Dorsett is the next TY" talk

It's May 11th now and I want to join the competition for the dumbest comment made...  I think Grigson should be fired!  I could do a much better job than him.  Heck give me a uniform and I'll suit up to show them how it's done.  I can play any position anytime!!

Yikes.......

I think his offering was tongue-in-cheek...

Why pick up carter, johnson and draft a wr when we need line men ( i might add the best available in the draft)

How can you say swoop is a career back up when he has not been giving a chance?

If luck gets hurt(god forbid) because of inferior line men we will not fill the seats or win.

Any thoughts on why they played trent so long?

If you look at the numbers of the best linemen that were not taken by the Colts in the first round you will find that the lineman the Colts took in the later round have numbers real close.

you act like our QB is RG3. You say he needs 3-5 good WRs we have Andrew Luck. We don't need all damn pro bowl weapons like everyone wants that's what killed us in the Manning era. Good luck fielding a D when we have to pay all these weapons.

What killed the Colts in the past the most was special teams play, not defense. How many playoff loses came from the special teams giving up huge returns and giving the other team the best field position? How many playoffs losses came from missing field goals? You act like the Colts past problems were completely on the defense. You are not seeing it was the terrible special teams play that hurt the most. We now have a pretty good special team put together. With a new return guy they will be even better.

Wow,  somehow my sarcasm-meter must've accidentally been turned off.

Yikes....      :peek:      Dopey me!            I gotta get that checked!

Otherwise,  nice graphic....    never saw that one before!

Apologies to ColtStronger for missing your fastball down the middle!

I wanted Kendricks anyway? But would have been fine with either of them as well or a OT or Collins the S

No, I don't act like our QB is RG3.  Our QB is better than RG3.  Luck is a very good QB and he is very young still.  The more weapons Luck has at his disposable, the more chances he will have to continue to excel in this league.  We signed Herreman's and have some guys coming back healthy (and with more experience), which should automatically help our line.  We signed the best RB Luck has ever played with (by far).  If we stay healthy, I don't see how teams will stop Luck's passing attack this year.

We did a lot for our D this offseason with Langford, Lowery, Trent Cole, Mathis coming back, D'John Smith, Clayton Geathers, Henry Anderson, David Parry, Nate Irving, an offseason of rest for Art Jones, etc.....

it works for every position but WR as far as I can tell I don't get it either. Everyone was ok with Dorsett cause Andre is old well what about the the whole half of our D that's nearly at 30 or over 30.

Our D has the following players who are at 30 or older -- Mathis 34, Trent Cole 32 (these guys are both rush linebackers, so they can spell eachother if needed, and they have 2nd year Jonathan Newsome, 3rd year Bjoern Werner, and others waiting in the wings) -- Mike Adams 34, Greg Toler 30 (with Clayton Geathers and D'Joun Smith waiting in the wings, don't forget Adams was a probowler at 33 last year) -- D'Qwell Jackson 31 (a pro bowler last year, with a 26 year old Nate Irving recently signed potentially waiting in the wings) -- that is it.  Then we have Langford at DE who is 29 (with H. Anderson in the wings), Darius Butler and Colt Anderson at 29 (both already back ups), Dwight Lowery and Walden at 29 (both of whom should have to earn their spot as a starter this year).  I'm not sure what more you expect, we have pretty quality young guys behind every older player on the defensive side of the ball.  All the issues you're pretending like we didn't address, we either didn't need to address or we actually addressed them and you've got blinders on.

I haven't claimed any of the D players were gonna be great or future HOFers like some have Dorsett. I just simply think D was a lot smarter choice since Grigson has been pretty good at finding skill positions later in the draft.

Meh. I'm a big Hilton and Moncrief fan, and was before we drafted either of them. Yet, Dorsett is a better prospect than either of them were. That's why he was a consensus first round prospect. We'll see how this goes.

man I wish I could think every late pick was gonna be a future star and take over for our old guys like you...

Every late pick?  Newsome showed a lot of flashes last year.  His strip sack on Manning in the playoffs was one of the biggest plays of the year -- he has already shown he has potential to play in this league, especially as a pass rush specialist -- it will be good for him to have another year with Mathis and Cole to work/learn.  Nate Irving is 26, he was hurt last year, but he started every game he played for a defense that was better than ours.  D'Joun Smith was a projected 2nd rounder that we got in the 3rd.  Anderson certainly has NFL ability.  Clayton Geathers has the NFL talent, he's gotta learn to be more of a football player and he should be fine.

We can't address every single position every single season and expect to fill them with studs.  We addressed every issue that was pressing this offseason, some might be old players who are only intended to be around for 1-2 years, and all of them have young guys with a lot of potential behind them.  If the potential doesn't pan out in a year or 2, we can readdress those positions.
