Colts Draft

Ok up until now i have been a strong believer that the Colts would solely draft Defence and Houston would either trade their #1 for a ridiculous amount of picks (Falcons come to mind), or take a Qb.

Now lately i have been hearing that Houstons organization is almost locked in on Clowney just because of the presence of Luck in the division, i think its no secret, Luck is going to be a superstar...yet with the combination of Watt and Clowney the Texans form the best D front in the AFC arguably the NFL.

(I even did a little spying on the texans forum they seem to believe are Oline is so weak that their Dline can overrun Luck).

Anyways with this in mind and assuming Grigs and Co. are aware of this does this mean we draft Oline, cause the texans are clearly are biggest competition, or do we * the needs at D>>>??????

Clowney isn't gonna save the Texans like people are hyping him to do

Draft the man, they drafted Mario Williams to slow down Peyton, how'd that work out?

We're gonna dominate the AFC South regardless of Manziel, Clowney, Bridgewater, Brotles, or whoever else wanna step to us.

So sick of hearing about Clowney. I'm praying the Texans take him. Clowney isn't gonna stop Ty Hilton from being the Texan Burner. You'll still hear "Andrew goes deep to Hilton, TOUCHDOWN Colts"

Bring on all challengers, draft the entire Alabama defense for all I care, sick of people sleeping on us but hyping our division foes as if we not sitting as the current kings of the AFC south

Sorry, my rant was directed towards the media not you

It's just sickening how all they're talking about is Manziel & Clowney. I'm tired of it. They hyped RG3 up then the moment he got hurt they threw him to the wayside. These athletes need to wake up & smell the apple juice

These people out here don't give 2 cahoots about. You're an entertainer to them. Let Manziel or Clowney be busts or get hurt, they'll see who still wanna hang with them. Manziel will see if Drake, Rick Ross & others still wanna hang out. Stuff is sickening!!!! Whatever happened to actually letting someone play a game before you threw hype at them?

It's best to stick to what we want.... Why start countering moves when we are #1 in the division.. Let's just stick to what we do and we will continue to be on top.

Castonzo`s pass blocking, UGH! Cherilus wasn`t that much better.

We HAVE TO be Much better up the middle. Holmes will kick tail but he will have to have Help?

Pray for a Running game.

If the BPA at 2 is a Pass Rusher, Corner, OR a LT we oughta take him. A good Rule.

Totally disagree about our OTs, but I respect your opinion. Biggest need is FS IMHO. But I would never disagree with taking a pure pass rusher.

Side note, did you guys happen to see the PFT article on the 2011 first round draft picks that won't be offered another year option? I think there were 10 of them. It shows that there's no sure thing in the draft, and (again, IMHO) we did well taking AC.

We've already played against some incredible defensive fronts with mixed results. We've played Houston when their defense was good; we've played against the Lions and their front 7; we've played against the Seahawks and Forty-Niners and came out with wins. Conversely, we lost to the Cardinals, Bengals, and Rams, who also have very good D-lines.

I would be a little worried about the Texans adding Clowney, but overall, I think that the QB position is the most important. All of the other AFC teams are currently lacking a solid QB and that puts us as the clear frontrunners, possibly for now.

Nothing that other teams are doing personnel-wise should influence the way the Colts build the roster. They should already be committed to putting together the best roster they can. Grigson isn't going to suddenly put more emphasis on offensive line just because the Texans draft Clowney. They already have the best defensive lineman in the game; if Grigson wasn't already paying attention, then we've got bigger problems than Clowney. I don't believe you build your team with a focus on beating another team, especially a team with great players. Great players are going to get theirs.

I totally agree. When you start drafting and signing players just to counter one team in your division you have already lost. For a lot of years the other three teams in the AFC south were drafting and signing players with stopping Manning in mind. It didn't work. I think now that Grigs has some what built the Colts to what he wanted he will now just take the best players when the time comes.

    • In one of the interviews I listened to with Scott and a Tenn Titans reporter a few months back he was asked what's one of the things that separates you? He said probably what is between my ears. High football IQ, understanding of the game and instincts.
    • Agree with you on the draft takes.   For AR's season, I think mediocrity is what we should hope for( compared to other QBs). We should not forget, that this is basically his rookie season and he's still only 22. So if that would get us to 10-7.....HOORAY !
    • Less than 2 months away when the greatest crushes this Jake Paul guy. Tyson in 3. Tyson is getting in great shape, he looks fast and strong as of now.    When I list boxers where they rank all-time, I go by peak. You have to when it comes to boxing because most fighters Don't last long. Mike Tyson from 1985-1995 only lost once in 10 years. His record in that time frame was 43-1 37 KO's. Buster Douglas KO'd him in the 10th round in a fight where Mike didn't even train for and Mike actually KO'd him in the 8th, Douglas got a 13 count.    Notable wins in that 10 year frame.   Berbick Holmes but he was old, still it was Holmes. Tucker  Spinks Bruno Ruddock (twice)
    • I'm excited about our future. I think Ballard put together 2 very nice drafts in a row. Never thought we would get Latu, thought we had a better chance at Bowers. Still holding out hope for Cross, he flashes greatness than dissappears, hope he's consistent. Hope Woods takes lead in TE room. I keep writing off Granson, but he keeps impressing. Even if Richardson has a mediocre season I think the team around him could get us to 10-7.
    • I think you understood his words in a "positive" way, but that's not what he said.   He DID NOT say that "most of you would choose to get married..."   That's your implication. Of course, only women can bring children in this world and most of the women will choose to be married and have children, but that's not exactly what he said.   He said, "doing so - while some others will go on to lead successful career in the world - will take you closer to God's Will"    Here's what he said from the transcript:    He could've said, "even if you go on to have a very successful career, and get the greatest accolades of the world, I think the most important title of a woman is :  Homemaker. And, that would take you closer to God's Will"    But, he didn't say so because he wanted to say exactly what he believes women should do and brought God into that by saying that's His Will.    I think he made a mistake of implying that women are generally excited about marriage and having kids and being a homemaker, when that's only part of a woman's life - even though that could be the most cherished and blessed part of the life.   He only looked at how that made his wife's life - his words, not his wife's words by the way - and projected that to all the women.
