RJF: Out several weeks....

I haven't seen this posted anywhere, so I thought I'd put it in circulation...

 

 

Rick Jean Francois is out two to four weeks with a planter facia injury that is not supposed to be as bad as the one Bjorn Werner suffered.    Pagano speaks highly of RJF here...

Also, read on the Colts blog that Linkenbach, who filled in for McGlynn, also suffered a minor injury and will be out this week.    It's not clear who will be playing RG this week,  but it doesn't seem like McGlynn as of this writing....

I still believe in these Colts, but to be quite frank, it's difficult to get hyped about anything other than winning the division.  Anything can happen, I'll be pulling for them and the whole 9 yards.  But because of all these injuries, my expectations on the post season have been shot, and thus, any desire to get my hopes up.  Sigh...

Yep. If the Colts were a stock, I would've sold out my shares weeks ago. This could still be a dangerous darkhorse riding into the post season, poised to take out a "better" team and send them home. Not really counting on anything beyond a possible game 1 upset.

Not sure if you noticed, but Pagano speaks highly of EVERY player he is coaching...the exaggerates the living daylights out of his description of his players so much that his credibility is greatly diminished.  You need to take what Pagano says with a grain of salt...actually make that a pound of salt...perhaps several pounds of salt.

I just laugh at him now in his pressers when he talks about a player.

You and I see Pagano very differently.    Doubt we're going to find much common ground on that topic.

I charted RJF in this game. I had him +6 against the run (17 plays, 6 positive, 0 negative), -1 against the pass (11 plays, 1 positive, 2 negative). That's a pretty strong game.

 

This kind of charting is always subjective. If I think he won a matchup, he gets a positive. If I think he lost a matchup, he gets a negative. If the matchup was a wash, it's a 0. Someone else might get a different result from watching the same plays; 'tis the inherent issue with taking PFF's ratings at faace value.

 

Just for whatever it's worth.

You can disagree with someone's comments all day long...it doesn't really make you right or agreeable.  All it really does is sets yourself on an island...and its your word versus Pagano's, or PFFs, or whomever your source is.

 

I guess what I'm trying to say is...while i'ts okay to disagree...you play with a different consequence when you call yourteam's coach's credibility into question.

      Hey Everyone,   So, I just caught wind of Goodson's apology letter after dropping that short pass from Minshew against the Texans last season. Here's my humorous take on the situation:   "Dear Fans, Coaches, Teammates, and Supporters,   I'm writing to apologize for buttering up that short pass in the most critical moment against the Texans. Look, I know I'm the backup running back, but hey, I'm usually good for catching those short throws - emphasis on 'usually'. My bad for turning a routine play into a blooper reel moment.   To my teammates, sorry for making you wonder if I was secretly playing for the other team. Next time, I'll practice catching more than just footballs thrown by the water boy.   To the coaches, maybe let's reconsider throwing short passes to guys who have hands that are more slippery than a greased pig at the county fair. Just a suggestion.   And to the fans, thanks for turning my drop into a meme. I promise to work on my catching skills so I can make highlights, not lowlights, next season.   Sincerely, Goodson (aka the running back who should stick to running)"   Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but you get the gist. Let's hope Goodson has been hitting those catching drills hard this offseason!

      I remember looking for highlights of TJ after we drafted him.  I kept finding videos of him following OJ Howard into the endzone.  Not sure if Howard was his responsibility, but it didn't paint a promising picture.

      Ballard,   So, yeah, about that whole "bust" thing—I guess the cat's out of the bag. Turns out, I'm more of a popcorn fart than a thunderclap. My bad.   When you drafted me, I thought I was gonna be the Colts' next big thing. You know, sacking quarterbacks, making highlight reels, maybe even getting my face on a cereal box someday. But instead, I've been about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.   I've watched the tapes, Coach. I've seen the memes. They're comparing my NFL career to a hangover—starts off with high hopes, and ends with regret and a lot of Gatorade. And honestly, I get it. I'm like that guest who shows up to a party uninvited and ends up eating all the chips.   So, here's my mea culpa. I apologize for not living up to the hype. For every missed tackle, every missed sack, and that one time I accidentally tackled our own quarterback in practice (sorry, Philip). I'm like the guy who brings a guitar to a party and insists on playing Wonderwall—I'm annoying and not nearly as good as I think I am.   But hey, I'm not giving up. I'm hitting the gym, studying film (mostly bloopers at this point), and practicing my touchdown dance for when pigs finally fly. I promise to work harder and maybe, just maybe, I'll redeem myself and earn my place in the Hall of Mediocrity.   Thanks for believing in me, and letting me live my dream for 4 years straight whilst simultaneously producing nothing for your team.
