Remember this thread friends. When Fleener is missing games and Ertz and Eifert are killing the league.

I love Allen by the way, this has nothing to do with him. 2 tightends is still a good idea.

so because he had problems this year he is never going to be healthy again?

I dow understand how y'all are sitting here saying Ertz is better. If Ertz was better than Fleener, he would've STARTED OVER FLEENER. But did he? No. So who's the better TE?

Why did Henson start over Brady? A lot can happen in a yr. Ertz has become a man.

He's a Junior now right? So he was there for 2 years. He had TWO years to start over Fleener. And don't say he was a freshman. Freshman can start over upper classmen

Late bloomer. Toilolo(sp?) played more than him too, but who's better now?

Quarterback Andrew Luck targets Ertz significantly more than his two other tight ends, Coby Fleener and Levine Toilolo. Heading into the USC game, Luck looked to Ertz 31 times, Fleener 21 times and Toilolo 12 times.

From an espn article after Ertz was injured in the sc gm. Seems Luck prefered him over Fleener too.

so your complaining about Fleener being hurt and you mention that Ertz has an injury history?

He either missed the Fiesta Bowl or left early. The biggest gm of the yr

He missed no games.   Started the Fiesta Bowl,  caught a couple of passes,  then sprained an ankle.   Bad enough that he missed the combine about 6-7 weeks later.

That's it.    And this is his entire injury history.   He had minor back surgery one off-season.   But that didn't impact any games.

Oh, Ertz missed about 5-6 games with a bad leg that he hurt in the 2011 season, Coby's senior year.   But no one thinks of him as injury prone.

Hey, it's football.   Guys get hurt.    Give it enough time, and Andrew Luck will likely get hurt.   Stuff happens.

Look...  maybe Fleener works out and maybe he doesn't.   But it's been just one year.   Give it time, and let's see what happens.  Maybe he turns out pretty good...

Here's Fleener's bio:

remind me never to go to war with Goodluck by my side in the trenches--putting the white flag up pretty quickly.  Fleener has had 1 yr and you're already looking at shipping him off.  Injuries are a part of the game, but he may never miss another game, and has shown enough to give confidence for the future

And if it happens in reverse and Fleener is tearing it up and Ertz and Eifert are subpar/injured can we all point and laugh at you and your thread?

    • Yeah it’s the going three and out that’s the issue.  That has nothing to do with the defense.  That’s all on the offense.  If the offense could sustain a drive you’d also rest the defense so they aren’t spent by the 4th quarter as they clearly were in the Texans game too.

    • A primary reason Why he needed to be more active in free agency. He has done well throughout his drafts to add contributing NFL roster caliber players, however, there is a mounting lack of true difference makers  on the defensive roster. His stubbornness with overvaluing his own draft picks is getting very old- especially on defense -to your point. I also realize some of these players are being held back by Bradley's simple and tired defense.
