I've always wondered just what do QBs do in the offseason

I remember Rodgers and Peyton their rookie yrs and the drastic improvement in arm strength and accuracy as time went on. I wonder what Luck will work on

What exactly did they do to improve arm strength?

Goat holding.  Does wonders for arm strength development.

Well, a certain CB of ours (Powers) spends his dayon Twitter arguing with people.

As far as Andrew Luck, I think he'll workout with the WR's. Reggie already said when he can he'll practice with him. Hopefully he spends time in the film room & weight room as well. I believe he'll have himself a good off-season

Pagano said that Luck was watching tape this morning.. I'd say he takes a few weeks off and works harder than he ever has this offseason. The rooks got that bad taste in their mouth in Baltimore. Can't wait to see how Luck and the rest come back next year

Luck would not surprise me if he did something like Mark Sanchez does with the "Jets West Camp" each offseason. Kind of run a sort of camp to work on fundamentals, chemistry, etc.

Not that I want to ever say "if he did something like Mark Sanchez" ever again.

He can work out all he wants, but unless they get a line that can protect him he will have the same issues next year.

How about a tall receiver that can out jump the defense as we saw Boldin do.

If he grows out his neck beard enough it can act in place of the O line, kinda like a hedgerow. Well it surely can't be as bad as some of the turnstile play we've seen this season!

To get back to the OP's question....

QB's do the following....

1.   Watch film

2.   Work out with receivers

3.   Watch more film

4.   Work out and get in better shape

5.   Watch even more film

6.   Work out more with receivers

7.   Endorsements

8.   If you're single....   well....   Just sayin....

Oops....  sorry....  we're talking just becoming a better QB and getting more arm strength....   got a little sidetracked there!

What does a tall receiver have to do with it when you use Boldin as an example. Boldin is barely 6'1" so he's not exactly a tall receiver. Besides that, we have Fleener who is much more like a receiver than a TE and we never utilize his height ever.

I never get this. He could send 50 tweets a day, and it wouldn't take more than an hour or so. That leaves 23 hours to do other, more productive things. It's hard to believe that being on Twitter hurts a player's ability to work on their craft.

Butler on the (failed) coverage looked like a scared child out there. He couldn't play that ball any better and he STILL got owned.

Okay, good. People always say stuff like that, though. "If so-and-so would spend a little less time [insert whatever random activity you want] and a little more time watching film/working out..." It's so ridiculous to me.

As for Powers, he had a toe injury two months ago. According to KFFL, he had surgery, and expected to be recovered sometime in January. I'm sure he's doing rehab and all that, but he should be back in business in time for camp. I don't know whether he'll be here or not; he's a free agent. I'd definitely want to resign him, but not for any significant amount of money. Two years, $6m ought to do it.

    • This aged like fine wine. After this happened, I bet $1 on the Lakers to win the NBA Finals next year. Get $31 dollars if they do. I'm buying into the conspiracy theory that the league will give it to Lebron and Bronny. Also think the Lakers will make a move or two in FA.
    • When I say lose huge this is what I mean….    The NFL has to pay $4.7 BILLION for breaking anti-trust lawsuit.      BUT WAIT!!   It gets much worse!   Because it’s anti-trust that can turn into triple damages which means $14 Bill+   Now before you shout “Good!  I HATE the NFL!”  And you’re glad they lost, think of the broader implications…   The NFL gets $20 bill in income yearly.  Losing $14 bill is going to badly mess with the entire league.   Remember the 2020 and 21 seasons badly impacted by Covid.  Team salary caps took a big hit.  Rosters got messed up.  This would be even BIGGER.     FWIW:   The NFL says it will appeal.     For more Google: NFL Lawsuit
    • Definitely. He said the same things last year that he said this year in defending AD. He just didn't name the player he was talking about. I think QBs were the topic, so it could have applied to Levis or Stroud, but it was obvious he was talking about Stroud.   This year, some agencies advised their clients not to take the S2 test. That's about all I remember about it. I think the cognitive testing process has some image rehab to do, and if they can keep scores and results out of the public sphere, that's a good start for them.
    • He’s not wrong.  Stroud was getting killed based on doing poorly on the new test to measure mental aptitude.   Strictly on that basis it was good to see Stroud succeed.      PS —. Speaking of that test, did we hear anything about that in the 2924 draft?   I didn’t read a single story about it.   Did you?
    • Go to about the 23 minute mark if you want to hear. Below is from the Youtube transcript:   one of the things I struggle with is spend so much time tearing down 23:29 19 20 21 year old kids with unnamed sources in the media that just I mean 23:36 why like wh why just I don't understand where the benefit is in that and if I 23:45 think if you go back in history and you look at the guy some of the guys that have been ripped apart and tore down um 23:51 some of them have been really successful I look I went off the year before about CJ stra with CJ and people were killing 23:58 killing him over a over over a test and I mean he he debunked that pretty 24:06 quickly
