GoColts8818
hmmm, then I guess switch Gilreath with Smith... I think Gilreath makes the roster as our punt returner. The draw back is that Gilreath hasn't exactly brought it as a WR. That's why I kept both. Not to mention Smith is our only play maker on Special teams. I like what I've seen out of him when it comes to stopping the run. Brayton just gets pushed all over the field.I think the Colts were just letting Orvlosky show another team what he can do. I think the Colts feel like they know what they have in Painter thus they didn't play him.I want Brown cut I am still going to be surprised if it happens. We'll keep four RBs, Addai and Carter are locks. So Brown, James, Evans, and Spann are playing for two spots. I think James and Evans are the best of the two.Chick is very much iffy. He could very well end up gone for a sixth linebacker or Brayton. I went with the five because I think we can stash the other two linebackers tht people liked on the PS and bring them up to the main roster if we need them. Some changes to it as other teams make their cuts, but maybe 4 or 5 guys from our current 80 will be there after a couple weeks or so.**A Why hasn't Painter played more in the preseason? He doesn't need the work? They want to save his arm for the playoffs? I think his lack of playing time tells us something and Orlovsky played decently against the Bengals. I don't really buy that the Colts are simply helping display Orlovsky's abilities so he can get a job somewhere else after they cut him. Either way, the #3 quarterback won't play a snap, barring some unfortunate injury to Manning and/or Collins.**B Evans is a good running back but being pretty decent at special teams also helps his case, here. WoolMagnet
I don't see Chick making it. I know there are some that like him, but he got absolutely man-handled tonight. He was not a factor at all. Plus, Anderson has been looking pretty good. maybe even better than Hughes. Also, Brown just can't get ANY yards. Although I doubt he is cut.Taj Smith has been showing more "life" than the other WRs.(except the top guys of course)Carter and Spann have looked good too . Carter is goonna be a FORCE I think. I didn't see Javarris James get any carries tonight. Anyone notice?
RomanianColtsFan
Probably James didn't play because he already made the team. I don't think Brooks makes it, I am not sure about Gilreath either. It depends what they think about his abilities as a receiver, not just as punt returner. I rather see Taj Smith making it. Allegedly Caldwell told him this game was his resume. It now depends how bothered the coaches were by his 2 drops. Also, I don't see Donald Brown cut , he's got one more year in his contract. Gonzo may get cut but only if they think his injury is going to sideline him over a long period of time.

In the Hamlin thread you admit not ever hearing of the guy and now you got him on your opening day roster? Was he that impressive last night? And Hamlin and White will not be tied together in roster moves. If White stays on the PUP and comes off it in 6 weeks, it will likely be at the expense of another receiver. As for Gonzo, he’s a casualty because of his inability to stay healthy and (as I understand it) he’s due a $2 million roster bonus if he makes the 53-man roster. Taj Smith gets cut because, although he may be a decent ST player, we need help at WR. Smith’s hands are unreliable. That said, I won’t be surprised if the Colts go out and get a vet WR, which means either Brooks or Gilreath get cut. I could also see the Colts trying to pick up a S or CB cut by another team. Obviously, the Colts will likely fill out the remaining PS slots with other team’s castoffs. I’m also not sure about the TE situation. Snow is listed as a TE, but I think I’ve only seen him in one non-ST play (and he dropped the pass). Plus, I think the Colts value him so much as a long snapper that they don’t want to risk him getting hurt. So, maybe another TE is added to the roster, especially one of the blocking variety given the OL concerns.
