Yes, I totally agree it's great to see Mathis still with the organization. He said Colts nation you couldn't get rid of me. I'm glad we didn't get rid of him I hope he's here a long time.

His commitment to the Colts is awesome he continues to live & breath Colts football but it is a new gig with it are things to learn .

Love it. He looks like he'll be a solid coach/mentor for us.

 

No harm in having a guy with 100+ sacks around who all the young players know. It isn't like a guy who was great 20 years ago who players can't relate to.

 

I'm sure some of these young pass rushers used Mathis playing video games in high school and college.

I think Mathis will benefit this team on the sideline and still in the locker room. He'll keep this defense hungry and on edge.  He's the spark until someone else steps up with the attitude and play to back it up: we were talking earlier in the year about loss of veteran leadership in the locker room. He can kick them in the butt when needed and has the respect needed for it to have impact:
