This is most likely a respect thing. Also colts admitting they are retooling with a young QB and aren’t going to be going to playoffs this next year.

I like the Gilmore trade. Opened up cap space and got a 5th round draft pick. Corner is a weak spot, but we'll fill it. Gilmore had only one year left.

Early days yet but I wonder if we’re aiming to get a high pick next year and go after a QB or Harrison Jr at the top of the draft?

 

I doubt Jim would give Ballard that much slack but you never know.

If Moore goes that only leaves colts one CB. I don’t like making defense weaker when we have a rookie QB but I understand it.

Let's not over react, Rodgers come with some headaches, just like how you learn to be patient with Ballard as GM, you just gotta be patient with AR Diva. It's just different level, but in the end, you gotta get on with that.

Rhodes was already declining badly when he was with Vikings... Colts signing him was just a try if a change of scenery makes him better.

Rhodes played as well as Gilmore the first year we had him. He was a lock down corner. Him and Gilmore had similar circumstance here. He had a 1 year deal though and Chris bought him back. Didnt play well after that. And injury prone.

And getting younger.  The Colts are in all likely hood going to have a rookie QB next year and probably aren’t going to be that great next year.  So having a 32 year old corner in the last year of his contract doesn’t do you much good.  Having an extra draft pick you can turn into a player who can grow with the team does.

Rodgers, the guy everyone wanted to start last year (and they were right) was a sixth round pick and you don’t have to wait until the fifth round to go corner to replace Gilmore.  You can use that pick to get another player at another position that will help you.

Yeah I was adding to a person who brought up the cap space so that was covered already.

Very clear.  We are clearing space for LaMar. Very obvious now.  Expect the releases to happen very soon.  Hopefully a few more trades too.  When I was looking at the cap space today Gilmore, Moore, and Kelly really stood out with big cap savings if traded or cut.  Trading provides more.  Buckle up.
