Can you do this for the other 25 teams we may trade with :D  Just kidding, thanks for laying this out though, kind of a nice reference...especially for us lazy bums (or at least myself) who do not want to do our own math on the trade value chart!

Denver and seattle are unrealistic imo

I like San Fran one though. We could get Kelly or someone else who slips out of the first.

That San Fran trade yields a lot of picks. We would have 9 overall, and 8 of them from #37 to #155 (Rounds 2-5).

I agree that it would be awesome for San Fran to make that trade.

Yeah I like all the picks we get out of this trade. I dont like having 6 picks.and 8 seems great!  I have heared scouts say the talent level between the 18-60 pick is very slim, so if we get more 2nd 3rd and 4th picks the better.

Anderson, Geathers, Mewhort, Moncrief are some of the players we have gotten in the 2-4 rds and are huge parts of our team.

We would certainly be invested in the meat of the draft.

Just think what we could do with those picks.

Example;

# 37 - Jason Spriggs, RG, Indiana

# 48 - Noah Spence, RUSH, Eastern Kentucky

# 68 - Joshua Perry, ILB, Ohio St.

# 82 - Isaac Seumalo, C, Oregon St.

# 155 - Tyler Ervin, RB, San Jose St.

Great post.     I couldn't help but notice that Grigson threw a bucket of ice water on the possible idea of trading down.     He didn't rule it out,  but didn't sound very enthusiastic about it.     I hope that's a smoke screen.

Personally,  I like the option of trading down with the Jets,  collecting that 4,  and then trading with Seattle and getting another haul.    The picks would have to be tweaked a bit since we'd be moving down from 20 and not 18,    but that's all negotiable.

Good job.    Hope lots of people will check out your work.

Thank you for the kind words, sir.

Trading #18 to the Jets (gaining the fourth #118), and then trading the #20 pick to Seattle is very interesting.

New York Jets

New York Jets receive #18 (1)

Indianapolis Colts receive #20 (1) and #118 (4)

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks receive #20 (1)

Indianapolis Colts receive #26 (1), #90 (3), and #225 (7)

Colts Draft Picks After Both Trades:

1 - 26 (from Seattle Seahawks)

2 - 48

3 - 82

3 - 90 (from Seattle Seahawks)

4 - 116

4 - 118 (from New York Jets)

5 - 155

7 - 225 (from Seattle Seahawks)

7 - 239

We end up with 9 picks and still kept a first rounder. Good thoughts, man!

I like the Seahawks deal best

And the crazy thing about Seattle is they might move up to draft a player that none of us could have ever predicted. And the pick would pan out too.

For example; just to show how off the wall it might be. Seattle might move all the way up to #20 and take Jason Spriggs. Then Jason Spriggs becomes a Pro Bowler in his rookie season.

It's awesome watching the analysts squirm when Seattle does this stuff too. The analyst know they can't talk trash, because more often than not the Seahawks front office gets it right. But at the same time, they want to say; well Spriggs would have been there had the Seahawks just waited, and not spent the picks to move up.

The deer in headlights look on the analyst faces after Seahawks picks is priceless.

i doubt they would do it. a lot of people have been mocking trades with them, but they dont have much of a reason to trade up like that

They need O Line help. Maybe they like a Tackle more then what mocks think and surprise everyone (most likely wont happen but possible) and they want Decker or higher on Spriggs or Conklin

The Seahawks haven't had a 1st rounder go to a pro bowl since Russell okung.  He was considered one of the best tackles in the class and was drafted 6 overall.

Either the Denver or Seattle trade. I don't want to trade out of the first, but I really hope we can trade down to the end of the 1st, still get Floyd or Spence, and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd and a 4th or 5th. We need as many early round picks as possible and we need to hit big with this draft class. We need to come out of this draft with 3-4 impact starters, and that's if we don't make a move. If we trade down and have 2 2nds. Then we need to come out with 4-5 impact starters, and hopefully a late round gem. We can be one of the top 3-4 teams in the league with a great draft.

That's a tall order. If you can get one or two impact starters in a draft (especially when you're working with less than a full deck) I think it's considered a success. Asking for four impact rookies is just unrealistic in my eyes. We spend so much time building these players up in draft season every year, we forget that they're coming in to play with the best.  It's hard enough for rookies to crack the starting lineup, let alone light the league on fire.

I realize you mean that the oft unconventional thinking in Seattle has led them to where they are....but I don't think that many teams are looking to use draft resources as poorly as Seattle has since 2013.  They made most of their bones in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

In fact, if Seattle can't sustain success in coming years after paying their stars, I'll bet the first place that the fingers point is at the barren drafts of recent.

I would not say Grigson threw cold water on trading down. I think what he implied was he probably would not trade down a bunch of draft spots, so most likely a Denver trade would be out. He would see that as

sacrificing quality, depending of course on his board. New York would be a great partner because you get the extra 4th, so you have back your full allotment of picks, actually better since you have an extra 4th instead of a sixth. If you did a trade like that, those two 4ths could be turned into a 3rd, which would be very much in character for him.

What Grigson said was "he would not sacrifice quality just for the sake of gaining picks." Moving back two spots, especially when one of them you know who is going to get picked is not sacrificing quality. I would love him to trade back, but has he ever traded back in the first? I think if you see him trade back it will be in the later rounds, which he has shown he has no problem moving around once you get to Saturday.

L&P.....

I hope you're right,  that Grigson is still open to possibly trading down.   And I'm fine if we trade down a modest amount.   I've written about me desire to trade down a modest amount.     I've said many times I'm not comfortable trading down more than 8 slots --- that's 1/4 of a round.

More than that,  I think someone would have to overwhelm with an offer for me to be comfortable.   I mean REALLY over-pay.      But I suspect we'll stay put and take BPA.     I just hope it's someone that the majority are happy with.     This fan base could use some uplifting news....

Did you use the draft value chart to come up with these trades?   Would like to see what the compared values are.    Because most of these look unrealistic to me.
