There's still an unanswered question about whether the team will use a post-June 1 designation on him. If so, we save $4m this year, and $6m next year. If not, we save $2.25m this year, and $7.75m next year.

Andrew Jackson didn't have any unamortized bonus, and didn't have any unpaid guarantees. Saves $510K in 2015.

I'm a little confused about Xavier Nixon. I was under the impression that he was an exclusive rights free agent, no longer under contract. I guess when it says he was waived, it means his ERFA rights were waived. No impact to the cap either way.

I'd imagine we take the hit this year since I would think we have more guys to re-sign next year and fewer holes to fill this year. Besides I don't think we are done with the cuts.

It doesn't really matter when they take the hit. It's not that big, and you can roll cap space over if you want. Either way you do it, you save $10m against the cap over the next two seasons.

The one that matters is Cherilus, if they release him (and I think they should). They'd restrict their spending this year if they didn't designate him as a post-June 1 release.

I don't see rjf getting cut unless we sign abother d linemen first

The difference is that RJF isn't a liability, despite the zealotry of the anti-RJF crowd. He's actually a decent player, he played 16 games this year and filled in well for Jones, and he plays a position where he can be used in a rotational role.

Colts never seem to use the post June 1st cut and I would think they just eat the dead money all this year. They have plenty of cap room , so why not ?

I like RJF but I'd gladly take your Nick Fairley signing lol would we keep RJF to rotate or would we not wanna pay him that much

I wouldnt say Im anti RJF, I guess I should have used a question mark in regards to his release instead of using the whole.......... thing.

They haven't had a lot of high profile releases, not since 2012. Satele only had one year remaining, so no post-June 1 option there.

It doesn't really matter, but it would change the number by $1.75m.

Can almost guarantee we sign McCourty should he reach Free Agency. We saved some money, we need a safety, McCourty is perfect and will fill a gaping hole in the secondary. This is a team that is close, McCourty may agree to come.

On NFL Network they stated Mcourty would likely be Franchise tagged

Agreed , Nixxon for missing team flight ?

The game we started him at RT he looked like a guy who had just been converted from defense.  lol

Thanks Grigs for getting Landry off the roster sooner rather than later. Tired of him and all the talk.

Andrew Jackson was likely to slow to be an every down player anyway.

I agree. Which is why I made the comment. I don't think we cut him as he is serviceable unless we get an upgrade on the DL somewhere

Manning ? Don't know how many years these guys had on contracts but... Clarke , Adlai and Brackett . But that made sense as the Colts went to a rebuilding phase.

I mean after 2012. Yeah, Manning of course, but we didn't post-June 1 him. We did Brackett. No to the others, IIRC.

In 2013, there was only Zbikowski, who didn't have any meaningful bonus money. In 2014, there was only Satele.
