Blount a Patriot Again

I look down on him pretty heavily for walking out on his team in a close game... but the one team that had the leadership to keep him in line was the Patriots..

His two year deal has a lot of outs for the Patriots and it's a cheap contract, so if he buys in fully again like he did last time then talent wise this will pay off as we approach Dec/Jan football season.

JMO, but I think he wanted to blow his way of Pitt. He only had 60 carries over 10 games. Perhaps he thought it would be more of a split with Bell the way it was last year with him and Ridley. I agree that I don't like it either but he was a good player and teammate here last year and he will certainly see the ball more with Ridley on IR so I would think he will be a happy camper again.

That graphic/visual image is pretty darn sweet Brent. Nice! Wasn't smoking an illegal narcotic in Pittsburg on his way to the team plane an issue for him though?

Mr. Blount, let me be blunt: you play on grass not smoke it dude. I'm just saying...

So signing a player who has been cut and or traded 4 times in 4 years is a good thing? Wait- he was also suspended his last year of collage. Sounds about right.

...

You DO realize that he played for the Patriots last year, yes? And ran relatively well?

He's on a very short leash here, and I'm sure BB made that clear.

Besides, he's still in a backup role, just like last year .

I laughed outloud when Adam Shefter says that Blount can be a kick off specialist for the Patriots. Are you kidding me? You want speed on special teams as in like Darren Sproles you know lightning quickness & agility.

I can't picture Bill using Blount in that capacity myself. Personally, I think his gift is his thick frame, durability, & battering ram quality myself.

Edelman is the guy I'd always put on special teams...That guy has great hands, tremendous vision, & darn that boy is fast.

I don't why NE puts Amendola there unless he's in Brady's WR doghouse or something like that.

Yeah, well, he's no DaRick Rogers.

So, we have that.

Guy was a beast for us last year especially late in the year and in the playoffs. And a good teammate. Players perform differently for different teams. Not like we gave up anything to get him back.

And isn't there a thread on the Colts section saying "Welcome Lagarett Blount?" :)  You guys actually could use him more than us.

I thought Blount was returning kicks for the Pats last year?

Bill used him in kick-off returns last year late in the year. In the Buffalo game he had a few big returns in the rain. Guys just bounced and slipped off of him.

He is an interesting player. He does appear to have great speed but when he gets out in the open he is so hard to bring down that he takes it to the house.

He was used that way last year rather effectively

I think the philosophy there is that for a kick return to get some yards, they ultimately need to break 1 or 2 tackles in the open field.

Blount won't return a kickoff for a touchdown, but he often made the first 1 or 2 guys either miss, or just break their tackle with his 250 lb frame.

So you won't get a 100 yard TD return from him, but he can increase your average starting field position to the 35 or so yard line

Why was he let go?. Was it due to the AFCCG?.
