6 (203): Zach Kerr, NT, Delaware.  A big, strong guy to sit behind Chapman.  With Jones and Montori Hughes able to play NT in a pinch, I’m not so sure we need to keep a 2^nd pure NT.  But more depth can’t hurt you, and Chapman is already going into the 3^rd year of his contract.

 

7 (232): Dewey McDonald, SS, California (Pa.).  Alright, I admit that I only heard of this guy when we brought him in for a workout (probably as a potential college FA).  However, Grigs and Pagano must like the enforcer-type SS (hence the Landry debacle pick-up).  And McDonald is 6’, 220.  He ran a 4.43 forty at his PD and put up 23 reps.  89 tackles, 6 TFL, and 11 PD as a senior.  This guy sounds like a Grigson pick-up to me, so let’s not chance FA.  If he pans out, it won’t be a blow to the safety corps if when Landry is released after next season.
