Recenty added Players' Roles

What roles to you see from the players we have added over the past couple weeks.  Such as Corey Lynch, McNary, and Rogers.  What role on the team is the best and would help the team the most.

T Xavier Nixon

OLB/DE Daniel Adongo

ILB Josh McNary

WR Da'Rick Rogers

S Corey Lynch

HB/RS Chris Rainey

Also, should Nixon get a crack at the starting line since most of our lineman can't handle playing in the NFL.  Also, should Adongo be activated this week and get in on ST and situational pass rushing?

T Xavier Nixon = Backup, but with the way our o-line looks I wouldn't mind him having a shot.

OLB/DE Daniel Adongo = I think he will be in on STs we just lost 2 STs guys to IR.

ILB Josh McNary = He was already in and he impressed so I think he gets more and more time to show what he can do.

WR Da'Rick Rogers = After DHB dropped that WIDE open pass I have to say/hope the WR order is now Hilton, Brazill, Rogers, DHB.

S Corey Lynch

HB/RS Chris Rainey  =  3rd RB Herron has been IRed I think Rainey will be a returner but won't be surprised to see him out there on offense.

Rogers, Mcnary, Rainey are on going to play specials teams and snaps based upon success if they have some. Nixon and Lynch are insurance player in case of injury only they play. Adongo might see some special teams but it also might be because the Colts don't want to tutor him for a year on the practice squad and then have some teams with nothing to win then pluck him from our squad before he ever sees a minute of the field.

You really think Nixon would get a start? lmao

Maybe try Nixon as one of the extra lineman when Pep does his "power running" formation.

Rogers definitely should at least split HALF the reps with DHB. Or, Pep needs to be smart and only throw crossing patterns to DHB (so he can jump up and catch it since he can't catch if he doesn't jump)

Adongo should gets some reps on ST.

McNary has already shown flashes. He should get more playing time. I'd like to see him and Freeman out there at the same time.

Rainey. I'd like to see him catch a pass out of the backfield. Keep the D guessing.

Lynch will only be used in a pinch. He's pretty decent, but I'd still rather have Landry out there.

T Xavier Nixon: Unless he can play G or C, he's nothing more than a backup.

OLB/DE Daniel Adongo: He'll be getting his "Rugby" on come Sunday. Put him on kickoff & let him go knock a dome off someone's shoulders.

ILB Josh McNary: I want him out there in a base 3-4 next to Freeman. I'll take him over Pat Angerer

WR Da'Rick Rogers: Want him starting over that bum DHB

S Corey Lynch: Insurance policy

HB/RS Chris Rainey: KR & PR. I don't want Ty Hilton doing any returns. And Chris Rainey will be an option at RB now too if they wanna rotate him into our "RB by committee" thingy we have going on here

I am not sure many saw that Joe Reitz was at RT during the winning drive....I am telling everyone once again...get him on the left with Castanzo and either move Thornton to RG or Link (If Healthy)  Reitz made a huge difference.

McNary has game Colts Fans...I was thrilled when we signed him.

Lynch in a pinch....Love the rap/rhyme Lolly....Maybe Lincoln Park instead of Nelly :funny: ...Heck....just turn on the mandatory Metallica and forget it :)

I agree completely with your thoughts about the o-line. Not sure why Reitz hasn't been tried out on the line more this year.

Agree with most but can Nixon play G/C? Also 'I" would put Rogers ahead of Brazill on the dc.

T Xavier Nixon - Backup

OLB/DE Daniel Adongo - Healthy Scratch. At least a couple games

ILB Josh McNary - spot starter, rotation

WR Da'Rick Rogers - Rotation / situational player.  Hopefully he spells DHB and not Brazill at this juncture.

S Corey Lynch - An ST dynamo alongside Sergio Brown.  A situational DB  (Dime package?)

HB/RS Chris Rainey - backup making a bid for some of TRich's carries

    • Well 30 I doubt the Vikings called themselves or maybe they did…
    • Actually, I kind of disagree that it would have been a contender. Most contenders are tight up against the cap and adding a receiver who was going to get north of $30,000,000 would have been very difficult. Plus contenders 1st round picks tend be very low in the 1st round. For example if Buffalo was interested , you would probably want multiple 1st and those are like say at 25 (basically 2nd round talent). I just dont see it happening and thats not appealing to the Vikings. The Colts are appealing because their pick was at  say #15 and they may have had the cap room to fit him under. Thats why I don't believe a lot of what is out there. 1st you have to look at each teams cap and say "who can fit a receiver for $30,000,000.00 under our cap. I bet it would have been few teams. The rumor was that the Vikings tried to trade him to say the Chargers. If i was the Chargers why would i take that deal? At number 5, I could have taken Nabers for a lot less money and many were saying he was the best receiver. Sure, he could be bust out, but I would have taken the chance. I bet if the Vikings would have offered Jefferson to the Cardinals, they would say no. Why would I give up Harrison for a guy, who is proven i must say, but is wanting $35,000,000.00 a year? I will take my chance with Harrison. Ballard has said they tried to move in the draft.  Like I said, maybe the move was for Jefferson. I always had a hard time he was trying to move below. I think that would have taken so much draft capital for a position he does not have in high regard. Jefferson would have been a safer move as maybe you give up a lot less draft capital but a lot more money. Offer their #15  and a 2nd rounder. People will say  a #15 and a 2nd rounder for an all pro wr? I think the wr market is totally out of control. Ballard could offer that because he then says to the Vikings now I have to turn around and give  him $35,000,00.00 a year. The Chiefs moved Hill because of economics and they won 2 super bowls without him. You build around the qb and not a wr. I do think the wr market will some day crater like the rb market. I think a lot of these guys will come up for their 2nd contract and teams will  try to move them. That is why I was not big on moving up to say 4 or 6 to get one of the elite wr. You would have to spend tons of draft capital and then come four years later what are you paying Harrison and/or Nabors if they play out? Like $40,000,00? No thanks. I will continue to look for diamonds in the rough. Here is an example of positional value. Do i think the Cardinals would have traded for Jefferson and then the Vikings say take Harrison at #4? No  I do not. Now if say the Cardinals need a pass rusher and the best one was there are #4 and he was considered elite   and Cowboys said we will trade Parsons for your pick. Do I think Cardinals take that trade? I bet they do without hesitation even if Parsons was in line for a monster contract. That is just the way I see it and always will when it comes to certain positions.
    • Signing confirmed.  Colts just announced.
    • To me it all comes down to if Richardson can stay mostly healthy. If he can, I have ZERO doubt they will be better than TN and could certainly win the division. I don't have many doubts about Richardson's game, it's all about his health to me. Richardson is the far superior QB over Levis provided both are fully healthy in my eyes especially when you factor Anthony is paired with Steichen, and has a very good OL, RB, and weapons around him.
