No.  Its like at a party.  Somebody says the truth, then others say..."you're an * for bringing it up".  But, raising that truth isn't an insult, especially if the guy hearing the truth doesn't even understand the point.

Riiiight........so its kind of like how when YOU go to parties and everyone else is clearly annoyed by YOU and YOU tell yourself its not because YOU are miserable to be around, its because THEY dont like to hear the "objective truth"???????

This reminds me of when Jared was complaining he couldnt find anyone to go to the casino with him and was totally oblivious as to why that might be the case.

Nah.  Its not about me.  Its about the guy who can't face the truth, the Colts suck, so he has to try to put it back onto the truth teller somehow.  Kinda like you just tried to do....and failed.

I never said the Colts didnt suck.

But I dont like to sit around and talk about things I think "suck". Because that would be a miserable time for most people.

A terrible year last year is because they sucked, including not being able to beat team 31 (HOU) even once last year.  Where else should they be ranked?

And subjectively, since the end of the season, how much have we gotten better?

 Well Doug, IMO,

We have improved greatly.

With a much better HC.

We will have to dump a couple more of our better players to finish as bad or worse than last season because of coaching.

 I say sell sell sell.

We will rebuild!

And why i have a weighty IGNORE bucket.

Why suffer the foolish?

We sucked often, better coaching and a solid QB and we likely would have won 7-8 games.

NFL.com has the Colts at #31.

Time will tell whether this opinion is accurate or not.

Besides - roster building is NOT all about "free agency".

There is lots of time before the draft - and - a LOT of things can happen - across the league - before that time.

Your parties are boring.  Thinking people don't want to go to them anyway.  It's just you few little guys on your own little island pulling each others' chains.

False positivity is one of the deadliest of dispositions.

You're in a fishbowl and you think it's the Universe.  When the Colts stop sucking and doing dumb things, my tune will change.  Right now they suck and make bad decisions so when I discuss them I won't turn my head and act like what is there isn't there.

@ChuggaBeer, I'd bet you are fun to party with.  I think you and I could get into some trouble.  I still like to turn it loose on occasion.

I'm a whiskey man though.  Don't like the beer bloat anymore.

Oh I like all kinds of drinks   Trouble is no matter what i drink I follow my namesake.    Chugging whiskey is a badidea for me. Unless its Car Bombs or Fireball.   Hmmm. Yea thats still a bad idea. HAHA

With the right QB, we could win 9 or 10 games in 2023 with a healthy Line, healthy Taylor, and healthy Leonard. We have enough talent and it seems a good new head coach to get back on track.

How dare you  bring sunshine on a gloomy day, sir.

I don't sit around and talk about it either, which is why today was my first post in about a month.

BTW, after we swapped Yannick for Ekubman (sp), who are our Corners right now?  We started the offseason without a starting QB and a problem at C and RG.  We still have those problems (Minshew?), but went backwards at corner by losing both starters, not to mention our starting LBer.

We've regressed since the end of the season, IMO.

We dont have a game for several months.

Whats the point in judging the roster in March?

Not much point, other than it speaks to how many holes there are now.

The ranking is not important, but its out there, and its not wrong as a point-in-time look, IMO

If its not important, it doesnt matter to me if its right or not.

I just like to focus on things that I deem important. The Colts need to find a QB. If they can find a QB this offseason, it will be a great offseason. If they cant find a QB, they need to get the rest of the team playing well instead.

And I think to do that it will take a mix of young players emerging along with veterans playing their best along with the new coaching staff implementing a good system and putting them in a position to excel.

Doug we just have different views on NFL football. You seem to think bringing in new players is always the answer. I dont see it that way at all.

No, that's not what I think.  I've never been a proponent of big free agency moves.  But it also doesn't mean I'm not honest that when a team loses its starters to FA, it has taken a step backwards until better thing happen.  Other teams add pieces and ascend during FA., and yes, sometimes that doesn't work out for them

What I know is that the players we have on the roster now did not beat out the players we had last year....Gilmore and Okereke....and there was nothing about the "coaching" that was wonky about the defense last season.

So we have not improved on O (unless you say Minshew is better than Ryan behind the same oline?... Mackenzie for PC?)...and the defense has taken a step back talent wise just by the idea that the players who would start now were backups last season.

Not to mention, I don't even think we have enough Corners to field a defense right now.
