I looked up info on him but combine his drug violations with his injuries it doesn't seem a good fit. He isn't even an upgrade so no reason taking a chance. My bet since he is recovering from surgery is that Tampa knows he is going to fail another drug test adn just cut him. I have no info and that is just my guess.

Should read: we have Bethea & Zbikowski......and that's it.

I think he means that we have a bit of depth at saftey. Lefeged is good as a back up, and Caldwell was injured his first year in 2010 so this last year was practically his rookie season where he had 67 tackles. (Though that number is inflated by the amount of opportunities he had to make tackles.) He was an UDFA so, I'm not saying he should start, but we did make due with him for some 12-13 games last season where he got some experience. With Pagano being a DB specialist I'm sure with some coaching he could make a decent back-up.

Oh, I get what he was saying.

I just don't happen to think that Lefeged or Caldwell really provide quality depth.

I hope i'm proven wrong next season, though.

While I'm not sold on Big Z being an all pro saftey I think Bethea is as good as we can expect back there. I think what we have is servicable but wouldn't be opposed to an upgrade down the line if a good saftey came our way....just this guy doesn't apply to the good saftey part. If he isn't an upgrade over the starters we have I am not really seeing why we bring him in. Give our young back ups the reps.

You think they're not even good backups? Thats a little harsh, Lefeged has good potential.

once again haha sorry to pick on you but i really hate that word "potential" i saw it in another status, and i really don't see where you see all this all pro potential from.

When have you picked on me? And I meant he won't become a star, but he has a relatively high ceiling, (especially for an UDFA) and needs guidance and good coaching to reach it.

Nice, let's pick up the guy who failed a physical... that really makes sense

well yeah, it does, you could get him for cheap and imo hes better than lefeged, look at the stats of their rookie years. jackson 56 tackles, and 2 ints, lefeged 2 ints and 34 tackles. plus jackson had 13 pass defended and lefeged only had 4. so it seems like jackson is the better tackler and pass cover guy if he can get back healthy.

I'd like to see at least one backup S who's a high draft pick or a proven veteran......then I don't mind filling out the position with Lefeged or Caldwell types.
