53 man roster projection {Game}

[stitches]

Well, lets do this... post your predictions for the 53 man roster(this is after we make the final cuts and BEFORE we claim other players off of other teams). 

 

Here's the rules of the game. You will have 3 different tiers in your 53 man roster projection:

- surefire spot on the roster - you can choose 20 players for that one... For every player you selected in this tier who doesn't make the roster, you get a penalty of 10 points

- likely spot on the roster - you can choose 20 players in that tier... if a player you selected doesn't make the roster, you get a penalty of 3 points.

- bubble spots - those are the final 13 players that will make the cut - if a player you selected doesn't make the rosteryou get a penalty of 1 point 

 

The person with fewest penalty points wins the game.

 

The winner of the game gets the amazing award of .... bragging rights.

I think Burton is safe. Might be put on IR or something but he had a great camp and plays a position that we are thin at.

I think IR or Pup would count as not being on the 53 for purposes of this game though.... Which is why I put him where I did.  I don't think he gets cut.  

 

I completely missed First though ... It's hard in a season where there's no spring or summer, and we haven't seen a single pre season game or even a practice....

I'm not sure what you're saying there, CBE. Nobody actually 'starts on IR' and then comes back this season.

 

On Saturday at 4pm, any player that is still on IR has to stay there for the season. That means we have to pick the 53 guys we want most. The rest get waived/released. On Sunday at 4pm we can put players from our 53 on IR (where they have to stay for at least 3 weeks). Then we can fill those voids with waived/released folks who are still available (haven't been snapped up by other teams).

 

So I guess what needs to be taken into account for this Game is: who do you want on the original 53, including those who you will be putting on IR the next day. And who do you think we can let go from the original 53 and safely get them back after we send those folks to IR, but I think the second group of players don't get listed in the Game.

I said an injured list, not IR.... I should have said PUP.  Turay is currently on the active PUP, but the fact he hasn't practiced at all and that the teams seems to want to be very careful with him, has me thinking he'll get moved to the reserve PUP and miss the first 6 weeks of the season.  Also, Burton they're saying will miss at least the first few weeks of the season.  Reich likes TEs in this offense.  Going into the first few weeks with only 2 TEs (MAC and Doyle) would be risky, IMO.  I will not be shocked at all if Burton gets moved to PUP as well.  Keeping him and having him listed as 'Out' on the injury report for the first 3-4 weeks would likely mean we're going to be carrying 4 TEs on the 53 and would result in us cutting a skilled player at another position like WR or CB.

Hardest was Hot Rod over Chase though final scrimmage likely tilts it for the rookie......Franklin over Adams for final LB spot, dont think Glascow isnt going anywhere...Fountain over Dulin though expect Dulin to def make p.s.  Eldencamp over Hunt and Patterson (With Pinter practicing more at C think he becomes Kelly's backup).  Think F Green makes practice squad maybe Vollert as well and 1 gets pulled up with Burton out a couple games. Hope O' Donnell gets stashed on ps. as well. So much talent this year, good problem to have

I thought PUP/IR was going to be a push. I would have changed mine lol. Oh well.

I'm -5 I think... Should have been more brave with projecting Turay to PUP rather than going only half way there.

Think Stallworth surprised us all, when he first came in I assumed he would make it but Windsor had better reports,   leaned Fountain over Dulin but knew Dulin's st play was huge, thought Turay would be ok and not i.r.ed (Extra linebacker got me) and though Eldencamp would beat out O Donell..hadnt heard of Chaz Green much during camp
