6.5 mil is what im projecting. Its not like hes gonna get 10+. Its a good deal

You are actually only projecting $5.6m. 3yr $17m

I don't think it is a horrible overpay. Maybe to long of a contract with 3yrs and injury history.

Maybe:

2yr $10m $6m guar.

2019:$6m cap hit all guaranteed(since we have so much loot this season)

2020:$4m cap hit no guaranteed

That would drop from your AAV of $5.6m to $5m.

Might be a slight overpay, maybe, maybe not, but like was said. Ballard mentioned him highly and he is a guy you reward, but with protections cap wise.

Collins is not hitting the market

Man... please dont take this wrong..... you are an intelligent poster

But......

How are you 100% certain of this?

The safety market has been doing some weird things......

S   Tre Boston is an average, possibly better than average safety..........  was treated like the plague

S   Eric Reid is better than average safety......... was treated like the plague..... (The kneeling didnt help him)..... but the guy is a good player

S Earle Thomas, is an ALL Pro player........   No effort by Seattle to lock him up

There are other examples

I have no idea if Collins is going to be signed, tagged or not

I would say its at least 50/50.

Again...... please dont get offended...... you are clearly a smart guy

Its these 100% FOR SURE posts that I  scratch my head on by some folks

(You don't usually do it)

I though my first wife was 100%  ( When people are involved......Not so much  :) )

I put my best HOPE....... HOPE that Collins somehow is available......  Not counting on it

Peace and love

I appreciate that. I just cant see the giants letting go of their best defensive player. I would have no issue getting Collins. I just dont think its realistic

I meant 5.5. Sorry about that.

he said he would prefer to stay in new york and would not be opposed to the franchise tag either.

they have a lot of needs and only modest cap space, so the tag is looking likely at the moment

    • I got a Colts tattoo on my calf with the score of the Super Bowl for all the Bears fans that live in Iowa to look at as a reminder.
    • You do it based on their careers.  Using your logic you might as well say Chad Kelley is better than Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees too because Ryan and Foles are or are practically retired so yeah it’s impossible for them to be better than Kelley right now because he’s playing and they aren’t because they are older and their careers are over.     Also using your logic Sam is on a NFL roster and Kelley isn’t and it’s not because teams don’t know about this hidden gem.  They have seen him in the CFL and still don’t even want bring him in for a training camp spot.  That tells you NFL teams just don’t think he’s good enough for the NFL so even using your logic he’s not better than Sam.
    • I thought Haliburton was very aggressive tonight and he had a big scoring game. Turner's defense was another reason why we won. Nembhard's game winning 3 at the end was justice because all game long NY was making 3 after 3. Divincenzo was shooting like Larry Bird  .
    • We had to win this game and we got it. Can't go down 0-3. We are a different a team at home, tough to beat here. Great gritty win. Like I said, 1 game at a time, I know they are going to bring it again Sunday as that is a good team over there. Can't wait for Sunday!
