First choice is Allen, but he will not likely be there. Let's pretend he is off the board.

Tampa is a good trade suitor for us because they need a corner, safety, offensive tackle, outside linebacker, running back., and receiver.

I would make a deal with Tampa and then take Lamp at #19.

If Allen had a clean bill of health, it would be a no-brainer for me. Although not a popular choice, I`d go with Jabrill Peppers. He`s starting to grow on me a bit. Colts lack playmakers and he`s going to excel somewhere on the field no doubt.

Is Jonathan Allen really expected to be there at 15? I'd be shocked if he was.

Disregarding Allen I would go with Barnett or Lamp but I bet CB would go with Conley.

It's a Fanspeak mock..so take it with a grain of salt...but that being said it's what came up. I thought it would be pretty sweet if it was real.

Those would both be so divisive they'd blow up this forum!

Not saying either of you are wrong, I love both guys.  But that Ballard honeymoon would end April 27th for about half of this forum!  It would be hilarious!

Hey, if we could trade down 4 spots, get Forrest Lamp, and also get an extra 3rd, I'd be all over that. If we drafted Peppers at 15 though, I'd be throwing a huge fit, one like the Colts forum hasn't seen since Peyton Manning didn't play in 2011!

But seriously...

If Howard is available at our pick, and I am able to ignore the Siren song of picking him, I should have no problem getting something good value out of a trade back. The NYG are built to win a Super Bowl and getting a premier TE like Howard could be the missing piece for the upcoming two-year window. If they want Howard, they are going to have to jump at least DEN...but most likely they will have to jump TB and TEN as well.

If not a TE (since they have OBJ, Marshall and Shepard), the NYG could see a stud RB as the missing piece...and Cook and McCaffrey are the two left on the board. They could play it out and see if one or both are available. But with BAL, WAS and TB possibly targeting them (not to mention another team behind them trading up)...that's too risky. So they just move up and get the guy they truly want.

It plays out like this. The NYG call and offer me their 3rd and 4th round picks (the latter which is now at the end of the round 4 comp picks). Not bad, but not great. DEN, who wants (and needs) a TE and probably has Howard #1 on their board, is on the other line. They say they will beat that and offer me their original 3rd and 4ht round picks. Much better deal. Thinking I probably can't do any better, I get back on the phone with the NYG to let them down gently. But just as I am about to hang up they offer their second round pick AND their 4th round pick.

Then I sit back and take McDowell...and have seven picks in the 46-144 range to grab a couple DBs, a couple pass rushers, an ILB, a RB and a TE.

    • Once again thanks for sharing this.
    • For the fact so many people were sad/mad over this move and complained about the way we did it, I would prefer to have our own separate ROH, greatest players, and team accomplishments just for the Indianapolis Colts. What happened in Baltimore can stay in Baltimore, Baltimore isn't Indianapolis. I am content with what we have accomplished here in Indianapolis which begin in 1984.   Since 1984-2023: 40 seasons here as Indianapolis. Division Championships - 11 = 1987 (AFC East), 1999 (AFC East), 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014.   AFC Final 4 Appearances - 5 = 1995, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2014.   AFC SB Appearances - 2 = 2006, 2009.   SB Championships - 1 = 2006.   Great players that have played in Indianapolis: QB's 1. Peyton Manning  2. Andrew Luck  3. Jim Harbaugh (had 1 great season but it was important) RB's 1. Edge James 2. Eric Dickerson 3. Marshall Faulk 4. Jonathan Taylor WR's 1. Marvin Harrison 2. Reggie Wayne 3. T.Y. Hilton TE's 1. Dallas Clark 2. Ken Dilger O.Lineman we have had 1. Chris Hinton - OT/OG (could play either side) 2. Jeff Saturday - C 3. Quenton Nelson - LOG 4. Tarik Glenn - LOT 5. Tony Castonzo - LOT D.Line we have had 1. Dwight Freeney - DE 2. Robert Mathis - DE 3. DeForest Buckner - DT 4. Tony Siragusa - DT LB's 1. Darius (Shaq) Leonard - OLB 2. Gary Brackett - MLB 3. Duane Bickett - OLB 3. Cato June - OLB (underrated, he had some key INT's in his day) CB's 1. Vontae Davis - RCB 2. Ray Buchanan - LCB 3. Kelvin Hayden - LCB Safeties 1. Bob Sanders - SS 2. Antoine Bethea - Mainly FS/some SS Punters 1. Pat McAfee 2. Rohn Stark  Kickers 1. Adam Vinatieri Head Coaches 1. Tony Dungy 2. Ted Marchibroda GM's 1. Bill Polian - Still should have never given up on the undefeated season in 2009 but he built a hell of a team here! Owners 1. Jim Irsay   I will put this 40-year resume against any other franchise and come out OK.
    • I went with 6/10. There are things to be excited about for sure. But they are fighting a battle on two fronts...depending on player development and banking on regression not happening. Every team has to do this to an extent, but I feel like the Colts are doing it to an extreme standpoint on both ends, given the secondary and age of the core of the defense. Not to mention a defense that was 28th in ppg the last two years.   The offense is less of a concern with Steichen calling plays and a better skill position group than they have had in a while. But it also has the biggest wildcard of all...and that's AR.   I think 9 or more wins is a successful season. And if that happens...then my confidence would be up close to an 8 or 9 because that means good things happened.
    • Well I have this team pegged at 12 wins so pretty damn high
    • Clark and the Fever take out the Linx to improve to 11-14. Fever are now a game ahead of the Sky for the 7th spot in the playoffs. Only 8 teams get in. The Linx are coached by Cheryl Reeve who is going to coach of the USA Olympic Team. Before the game she was blowing questions off and being rude about Clark not being on the team. Clark got wind of it and Clark took it personal. At the end of the game, Clark was seen clapping in front of Reeve's face, staring her down in front of a sellout crowd at Minnesota in which 75% of the people were Fever fans  . Poke the Polar Bear, that is what you get .
